My Personal Experience

Design

Sharing a lot in common with more impact-play toys, the Bondage Boutique Advanced Extra Long Suede Flogger is a collection of narrow, light leather falls, connected via a series of stainless steel grommets to a round handle. The same handle also features a convenient leather looped strap. Overall, it feels like a fair amount of thought went into designing something easy to swing and pleasantly effective to be on the receiving end of.

Material

Bondage Boutique Advanced Extra Long Suede Flogger is constructed from soft, supple suede with a smattering of what appear to be stainless steel fittings. It’s worth noting that while suede floggers are known for being pleasantly supple and sensual, they cannot be sterilized, making them one-person toys. Also, suede requires a lot more care and attention than, for example, plain leather or silicone toys.

Maybe I’m being a bit picky, but there really isn’t a reason why the Bondage Boutique Advanced Extra Long Suede Flogger shouldn’t have a similarly suede-wrapped handle. It’s nice to hold onto, but since suede and sweat don’t mix well, it may make this toy even harder to clean and maintain.

Build Quality and Dimensions

Counting it’s an unknown number of very thin, thirteen-and-a-half-inch falls—which, frankly, Lovehoney should tell us how many there are—it’s a six-inch handle and carrying strap, the Bondage Boutique Advanced Extra Long Suede Flogger is approximately twenty-five inches long. Its handle is also about an inch in diameter, though a little more at either end, which is where its two sets of four metal grommets hold everything together. The strap appears to be over a half inch wide, while its falls are around a sixteenth of an inch thick.

Ease of Use

With its not-long-but-not-short, not-at-all-heavy falls, the Bondage Boutique Advanced Extra Long Suede Flogger is a great choice for people new to playing with these sorts of impact play toys. While floggers with far wider, heavier, longer falls need to be handled carefully to avoid hitting too hard or to keep from landing on more delicate—and more prone to injury—areas, it’s pretty difficult to harm someone with this one.

As I said, though, that doesn’t mean you should be reckless with it, as even a feather can seriously hurt someone if used the wrong way. Minor Issues I Found During Testing

My partner and I may both feel the Bondage Boutique Advanced Extra Long Suede Flogger is far too light and, for lack of a better word, “fluffy” for our kinky desires that might hit you in all the right, and very sexy, places. Even so, I wish the handle weren’t suede wrapped, as after swinging for a while, I found it more-than-slightly uncomfortable. Far better would have been to use thicker leather, like the material used for its sling, but when all’s said and done, the Bondage Boutique Advanced Extra Long Suede Flogger is still a well-made impact play toy.
