First Impressions and Features

Unboxing

As you can see in the image below, the Lovehoney Desire collection provides an appealing unboxing experience. The thin cardboard box is too lightweight for storage, but that doesn’t matter because they include one of the nicer storage bags I have used. It is zippered and thick, so you don’t have to worry if your dildo gets tossed around by baggage handlers on your next trip.

The storage bag is large enough to keep the instruction manual and cord alongside the dildo, but be careful when placing the cord inside, as the bag doesn’t zip completely. But that’s a feature, not a bug, because you can charge the dildo right in the bag! Neat!

How Do I Use the Desire Luxury Realistic Dildo Vibrator?

Step one: unbox it. Then, plug it in by inserting the recharging cord into the base of the Desire dildo. You’ll know you’ve plugged it in correctly when the light starts flashing; it will remain solid when the vibe is fully charged (it should look like the image below). The light also flashes to alert you that the battery is running low.

The user manual said it would take 200 minutes to charge and last up to 90 minutes. That’s a staggering amount of time to charge and not an impressive battery ratio, but I’ve been known to look the other way if the power makes up for it. When I tested the battery, it lasted for an hour and a half on the first setting (which uses both motors) and then took 210 minutes to charge. That’s a pretty poor ratio.

Next, grab water-based lubricant and lube up the dildo and yourself. Insert it gently and slowly to avoid injury. This one is sizable, so it may take more time than you expect the first time you use it.

The three-button interface is at the base of the dildo. Press and hold the plus button to turn on the toy, and then use the plus and minus buttons to alter the intensity levels. The mode button in the middle will change the patterns. There are eight patterns, but they have an incredibly complicated setup since the modes do different things to each motor. You’ll need to refer to the grid included in the instruction manual to identify which setting corresponds to each function. When you’re done, press and hold the minus button to turn it off; then, wash it and store it in its lovely bag.

My Personal Experience

After I tried the Lovehoney Desire Luxury Dildo Vibrator, I realized it’s kind of an enigma. It’s a high-end dildo vibe for a budget-ish price. It’s a large vibe for beginners. And it’s the perfect medium in both scenarios. It’s Goldilocks’ dildo.

When I tried it, I was pleasantly surprised by the power it has. Yet, there was a decent amount of vibration transfer to my fingers, so I used it by squeezing my thighs together and enjoying the sensations. I’m not typically a thrusting fiend, anyway, so this worked well for me.

Some of the patterns, when used one after another, reminded me of the theme to Jaws, which was fun. The patterns are random and difficult to memorize, which was a slight drawback. But overall, I found it easy to use and potent.

Packaging

The packaging was in line with the price. My only complaint is that it didn’t come with a sample of lube.

Design

This dong has “realistic” in its name, but I only give it half credit for realism. It’s a medium-to-large build, but the color is crayon black, not flesh-tone black. And the veins are concerning in their definition. If the veins on your penis or your partner’s penis look like this dildo does, please see a doctor. Also, the veins are so defined that you really can feel them internally, which is something I’ve never experienced with a real, live erection. But it added an element of je ne sais quoi, for sure. That said, I loved the combination of modern appeal with a dash of realism.

My main design qualm is that if they had flared the base a little, it would have worked for people of any gender. As is, this should only be used for vaginal recreation.

Further, I’m confused as to why they put one motor just below the head and one further toward the base. The extra power was nice, but the placement felt arbitrary. If the motor had been in the dildo’s head, you could use it on your clit if you wanted. And when you thrust it in, the vibrations would target the G-spot more. As is, the sensations are too dulled for most people to use it as a clit vibe.

On a positive note, I loved that it was flexible without compromising its durable firmness. The amount of bend was dead on. More kudos to them for making the dildo so lightweight with two motors!

I was pleased that the first setting was quite powerful. But with that power came a lot of transfer, and my hands were very quickly numb. A charging time of over three hours is wild, but it is worth it if you crave the intensity.

Overall, there is not too much that overcomplicates this toy.

The Desire Luxury Dildo Vibrator is moderately versatile. It will delight anyone with a G-spot, but wouldn’t work well for a P-spot since the base isn’t flared. On the other hand, the two motors give you the ability to experience multiple focus areas of pleasure, and the eight patterns and twelve levels of intensity are a lot to fiddle with. Unfortunately, the two motors cannot be controlled independently, and you can only use them separately by accessing two of the settings.
