If this is your first date with your Max 2, be sure that the Lovense Remote app is installed and set up on your smartphone (it is available on the Google Play store for Android and the App Store for iOS phones), and that the Bluetooth connection on your phone is active.

Apply lube generously to the interior sleeve of the Lovense Max 2, and also to the head of your penis. This ensures a smooth entry and a comfortable experience. Insert your erect penis into the opening of the toy (you may need to achieve an erection the old-fashioned way first). Wipe any excess lube off your hands.

You can control your Lovense Max 2 through the Lovense Remote app or the buttons on the base of the outer case.

• App control: Connect your phone to your Max 2 through Bluetooth. Open the Lovense Remote app and tap the “Connect” button. Now you can use the app to turn on and control your device. The Lovense Remote app is pre-programmed with three levels of intensity and four contraction patterns. You can also create your own custom patterns, and you can access patterns designed and shared by other users.
• Manual control: Turn the Lovense Max 2 on by pressing the bottom button (with the wave icon) until it blinks. The wave button also controls the vibration pattern, and the top button (with the fan icon) adjusts the intensity of the compressions.

We recommend that you start out low and slow, because the vibrations and compressions can get pretty intense pretty quickly. If you do find that it’s a little too much, you can open the adjustable air vent to reduce the suction; there is also a Quick Release if you feel that you need it. When you know your limits, you can branch out into creating and sharing your own preferred patterns.

The Lovense Max 2 needs to be cleaned thoroughly after each use. Leftover lube, bodily fluids, skin cells, and lint from sheets or towels create a miasma that can harbor bacteria. Proper care protects your own health as well as the health of your toy, and Lovense toys are investments.

Close the air pump vent to clean the toy. Rinse it with cool or lukewarm water, since any water warmer than body temperature can cause semen to congeal. Do not use soap on the inner sleeve, but you can use soap to clean the outer shell. Dry with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth and set the toy on a towel to finish air-drying.

Store the toy in a soft fabric bag with its charging cable and any other accessories. All sex toys should have their own individual storage bags. You can put a silica gel pack inside the sleeve before storing it away, and this absorbs any excess moisture.

Troubleshooting Tips

Lovense produces high-quality and well-engineered toys, but this doesn’t mean that we’ll never need to do any triage and troubleshooting.

• Connection issues: If your Lovense Max 2 does not want to connect to your phone or computer, make sure that you are running the latest version of the Lovense Remote app. Check to see that Bluetooth is on for both devices, and that the devices are within range. Bluetooth typically has about a 30-foot range, but poor air quality, physical interference, and interference from other electronics can shorten that significantly. Next, unpair the device and then re-pair it. If that still isn’t working, try tech support’s ubiquitous first-line recommendation of turn it off and turn it back on again.
• Charging issues: If your Max 2 is not taking or holding a charge, first clean the charging ports with a very soft (new and clean) paintbrush. Ensure that the charging cable is securely connected on both ends. If you are plugging into a computer or charging dock, try plugging into a wall outlet with a USB adapter instead since that will be a stronger and steadier source of power.
• App issues: If the Max 2 is not responding to app commands, make sure that you are running the most recent version of the Lovense Remote app. Verify that the Max 2 is actually connected to the app. Then try resetting it by holding the power button down for ten seconds.

All Lovense toys come with a year-long warranty, so if you are unable to resurrect your Lovense Max 2 and it is still under warranty, reach out to the manufacturer or retailer for repair or replacement. Even if the Max 2 is out of warranty, it’s still worth reaching out since Lovense may have model-specific advice or updates.
