How Do I Use the LELO LILY 3?

My Personal Experience

I have one million clitoral vibrators, yet I’m visibly excited each time I get to try a new one. They’re fun! I almost always love them! But I do have a few particulars that can ruin the experience for me, including settings that are too light, motors that malfunction if you press the vibe too hard, and overcomplicating the experience.

As you can see in the image below, the packaging is incredible, especially considering the price point. This one’s a steal (for a LELO device), yet oh-so-giftable.

Design

After I unboxed the LELO LILY 3, I immediately noticed that this vibe felt much lighter weight than other LELO products I’ve experienced. I knew this could mean they’ve equipped it with a lightweight motor that still rumbles or that the motor is light and the vibrations would be light, too. Thankfully, it was the former. This vibe packs a punch.

On the inside of the LILY 3 is the LELO logo and two LED light cutouts (you can see them in the below image). These are the lights that blink while the device charges, and they comprise the two-button interface on the body, consisting of a left and right button. Many devices have buttons without the deep seams, and the fewer seams, the easier it is to clean. I also don’t like that the buttons are on the bottom of the vibe, so if you’re angling the point into your clit, you’ll have to dig around to change the settings. Other than that, it’s gorgeous and well-designed.

Material

LILY 3 is made from silicone-coated plastic. When you lift it, it’s so lightweight that it immediately feels like a plastic vibe. The silicone makes for a smoother, softer finish, but it feels more like plastic than silicone. The material combo is extremely slippery when lubricated, and thanks to its small size, it’s easy to accidentally get lube all over the toy, making it difficult to grip. My advice is to go easy on the lube with any small vibe, particularly with this model due to the plastic-silicone combo.

Stimulations

It has a setting that turns off every twenty minutes or so, which I never like. I might be in the minority, but I’m not sure the people with vulvas who appreciate a turnoff setting to save batteries outnumber those who like to masturbate slowly. Having the option? Great. Having that set as default? A little annoying. I cannot figure out a way to turn this off, so expect to have your orgasm ruined occasionally by a surprise turnoff.

The first setting was more powerful and rumbly than I was expecting, which is always a pleasant surprise. What I realized after turning the LILY 3 on is that the first setting is not the lowest. It’s not the highest, either. It starts in the middle range of intensity, and you can use the left and right buttons to adjust the intensity on a sliding scale. The range of intensities is impressive, starting at the gentlest whisper and gearing up toward powerful rumbles.

I loved the gliding feel of the stimulations. Holding the right button turns them up smoothly, and holding the left turns them down smoothly without the jarring sensation of a stair-step increase or decrease.

Sound Level

The hard surface of this product makes it noisy if it’s ever pushed up against something hard, like if you’re masturbating on your stomach on a hardwood floor (which is a bad idea in general, to be fair). But when I tested the sound level, it ranged from 37 to 40 decibels, very quiet. It doesn’t make much noise if it’s in between your thighs and under the covers. I kept it in my pocket when my plumber came over, and not once did he suspect I had a sex toy in my pocket.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The LILY 3 is small, even for a palm vibrator. It’s lightweight, too. Since it’s so small and discreet, the dimensions make it perfect for travel.

LELO LILY 3 isn’t among the most versatile vibes I have. It only provides clitoral vibrations, so you’ll have to look elsewhere for versatility. The minor versatility it offers is that it’s waterproof, sized for travel, and flat enough to use during partnered play.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

The Dame Pom is difficult to top. This vibe is the one that I recommend to my friends, that I use as a stocking stuffer, that I keep at the ready in my nightstand. It boasts squishy silicone, which has a better texture than the LILY 3 and costs about the same: $110.
