First Impressions and Features

Unboxing

Unboxing the Lovehoney Dual Embrace was enjoyable but not lavish. The box gives you a brief but necessary impression of the toy, and it is made from thin cardboard like you’d find on a box of bandages. Inside, the toy and nozzles are wrapped separately in thin plastic bags to ensure they safely make it to your doorstep. Also included is a magnetic USB recharging cable and two removable caps for clitoral stimulation, all seen in the below image.

The device arrives donning the clitoral suction nozzle, but you can easily swap that out for the licking or pulsing nozzles. It also comes with a set of instructions, making it easy to get started. It did not have a storage bag or lube, though.

How Do I Use Lovehoney Dual Embrace?

Using the Lovehoney Dual Embrace is surprisingly straightforward despite its multifaceted functionality. If you’re only using one setting, you can get more than two hours out of the battery. But who buys the Dual Embrace if they are only in the mood for a single embrace?

After you have a full battery, wash it, but remember to remove the clitoral heads first. It’s fully waterproof, making it easy to clean. You can submerge it under warm water and use an antibacterial soap, or you can use a sex toy cleaner. Either way, dry it afterward with a lint-proof cloth because nothing loves to cling to silicone like lint and dust particles.

Next, grab your water-based lubricant of choice. My Personal Experience

A toy this versatile piqued my interest from the jump. Would this bring me a blended orgasm? As it turns out, yes. However, it took several tries and some tweaking. And there were a few minor bumps along the road.

Honest question for the sex toy industry: if you make a toy that overheats, do you end up marketing it as a warming toy? I would, but that’s probably why I’m not an engineer. When I researched the Lovehoney Dual Embrace before receiving it, I noticed that online there are two versions: a warming vibrator and a pulsing vibrator. The one I received is the pulsing vibe, but it warms up after a half hour of use. I don’t mind it—I live in the mountains and enjoy the warmth. The warming one is a bit cheaper, and this one warms up as well but provides far more options for pleasure.

I was so excited to try all of the Dual Embrace’s functionality, and I loved every single sensation except one: the small green tongue (image above). Maybe it was the alien aesthetic that put me off, but the tiny green tongue was firm and moved so fast that it was nearly impossible to keep it from causing pain. It didn’t feel so much like licking as it did being backhanded. Lube helped but didn’t entirely solve the problem. Those who love intense clitoral stimulation will be pleased, no doubt. Meanwhile, I think I’ll be seeing that little flicking tongue in my nightmares.

Design

The design is so appealing, and it reminds me of prior LELO models but at a fraction of the price. The color is lovely—mine came in an earthy sage green, a welcome contrast to the many neon devices I own. The open ring at the Dual Embrace’s base adds an extra element of ease, making it easy to grasp when slippery.

The button placement is as convenient as can be, on the upward-facing side of the clitoral arm. You can easily access it no matter how you’re playing. It’s also flexible and soft, which makes insertion quite comfortable. However, it’s not easy to keep it in place, and it won’t work well as a hands-free toy since it’s so malleable.

Material

The Lovehoney Dual Embrace is made from a combination of plastic and silicone. I was surprised by how luxurious the look and feel of this rabbit vibe is; the aesthetic competes with those three times as expensive.

Stimulations

The stimulations on this sucker are versatile. Your G-spot can experience vibration or merely the pressure of the arm inside you if you leave the motor off. Down nearer your vaginal opening, there are pulsations up for grabs. Your clit gets to choose between suction, pulses, or licking, thanks to the different caps you can place on the end of the clitoral arm.

But how strong are these stimulations? Well, they varied during testing. The clitoral suction felt the most powerful. The licking cap was also quite intense and required a lot of lube to avoid overstimulation. The pulsing cap (image below) lent itself to a gentler experience, and it was my fave. The internal pulsing and G-spot vibrations were lighter, with the vibrations landing firmly on the buzzy side of the spectrum. However, there was enough vibration for me to use it as an external vibrator on my clit.

My favorite thing about the stimulations is that you can combine them to learn to have a blended orgasm, which is an orgasm that involves all parts of your clitoris. To do this, you may need to start with your slower part. The Lovehoney Dual Embrace makes a little bit of noise. When I tested it, the sound level ranged from 48 to 55 decibels. The loudest part is the clit suction, but that dies down considerably when you get it in place.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The build quality exceeds what you would expect for the price. There are seams between the silicone and plastic (some of which were slightly imperfect and ragged), which will make cleaning more of a chore. In general, the build is gorgeous, sturdy, and practical.

The dimensions are modest, but they get the job done. With a 5” insertable length, you can expect that your G-spot will be targeted, but it will leave those who crave more intense pressure wanting more. I found the size to be perfect, and it’s slender enough that it may just work for those with mild dyspareunia or pain during sex (You can see how it compares size-wise to Womanizer Duo 2 and LELO Soraya Wave in the below image).

On the flip side, it’s slender and short enough that it doesn’t quite stay put—you’ll need to hold it in place the whole time.

Ease of Use

Thanks to the straightforward build, the Lovehoney Dual Embrace is easy to use. There are three sensations to control, and the interface features a three-button design.

The buttons were easy for me to remember because once the rabbit vibrator is inside you, the point closest to your head is the G-spot vibrator, and that button is also closest to your head. The next one is the pulsing area, and the next button corresponds. The lowest part is the clitoral head, and that’s also the lowest button. I wish all button interfaces were this thoughtfully put together!

Thanks to the jaw-dropping combo of silicone and plastic, there are some seams that you’ll need to use a toothbrush to clean. But overall, the Dual Embrace is approachable, even for novice sex toy users.

Versatility

For the price, I’m not sure you can find more versatility. With three speeds and six patterns per function, you have almost limitless combinations to play with. It also comes with two bonus caps, so if you don’t like clitoral suction, you can try the pulsing or licking sensations instead. It has a travel lock and is waterproof, so it’s ready to get you off anywhere you go. The only thing it does not do is thrust or have an app or remote control.
