This product does something absolutely brilliant that I haven’t seen before, and I fell in love immediately. When you open up the box, the toy is resting on a decorative little velvet cushion. However, the velvet is not merely decorative! Lift it up, and you can see that the cushion is actually a bag you can keep it in! Okay, maybe I’m a bit dorky for getting this excited over the design, but I’m a sucker for anything that looks great and has a really useful function. It also comes with a charger that apparently uses 50% less material than most.

How Do I Use The Oh My Gem Ardor?

One downside to The Oh My Gem Ardor is that it does not come with a manual, nor was I able to find any online. Not to worry, though; it is very simple to use. To charge it up, simply twist off the base, and plug in the magnet charger. It’s a little small and finicky, but a light right next to the charger will turn on and start blinking while it’s charging, and glow solidly when it’s all charged up. I’ve noticed that most warming toys take a long time to charge, but this one was done charging in about thirty minutes. The battery runtime lasts only about 45 minutes, but I’ve come to expect that from warming toys.

To turn on the Ardor, simply press and hold the gem button for about two seconds. It will vibrate a little to let you know it’s on. Turning it on also activates the warming function. If you want to use the toy internally, insert it, then press the button again to start cycling through the vibration speeds and patterns. One thing I noticed: if you wait too long before starting the vibrations, it will turn off automatically.

When you’re done playing, simply hold the button down for another two seconds.

My Personal Experience

Packaging

I already raved about the cushion/bag hybrid, so I won’t belabor the point. In general, the packing is really great, with a sturdy-feeling box, information about the product, and a little pep talk on the back about how “Aquamarine embodies the free spirit in you. You’re passionate, open-minded, and daring in the bedroom.” Thanks, Blush, you’re making me…well, blush! The bullet does not come with instructions, though, which is a definite downside, especially since there aren’t any guides online. Even though it is extremely simple to use, a guide would still be appreciated, instead of telling me how creative I am in the bedroom, nice as it is to hear.

Design

Such a lovely design! The tapered head makes insertion easy, and the flat part of the toy is a great shape for external pleasure. This one was clearly very mindfully designed. The jewel also looks lovely, and adds a pretty, feminine touch.

Normally, I dislike sex toys with a single button on the bottom, since they usually require a lot of fumbling around. But since this button is so big and easy to press (without being easy to press accidentally), I didn’t have any problem with it.

Ardor is made from soft silicone, but without much flexibility or squish to it.

Stimulations

The Ardor has 10 stimulations, 5 basic vibes that increase in speed, and 5 patterns. Blush even has a guide to these patterns on their website: Intensify, Throb, Rumble, Tremble, and Pulse. As I say, these vibrations are strong, so having to get through the most intense vibration level to get to the patterns was borderline painful. Definitely a downside if you’re a beginner, but absolutely a plus if you’re on the lookout for a powerful vibe.

Externally, the vibrations were also extremely powerful, but that was less of an issue, since you can control the pressure when you’re holding the toy against yourself.

Sound Level

SheVibe rates the sound level at 2/4, and I’d agree with that assessment. It’s not super quiet, but it’s not obnoxiously loud either.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The tapered head makes this toy seem like it has much more girth than it does, but at its widest, it only has a width of one inch. Proportionally, it looks much bigger! But while it is made to be beginner-friendly in terms of its size, it is not beginner-friendly in terms of vibes! And really, I think that’s great—not everyone who loves powerful vibes will want a monstrous toy with a ton of girth, and not every size queen wants intense vibrations.

Ease of Use

Despite not coming with an instruction guide of any kind, this toy is easy to use. Simply hold the button down to turn it on, then press it to cycle through the vibrations. The one downside is that it does turn off on its own if you turn it on without starting to cycle through the vibrations. As someone who likes to prepare with a lot of lube and give warming toys a chance to really heat up, I was a bit annoyed by this feature.

Versatility

Ardor can be used internally and externally. Again, the design is great, with a tip that makes penetration easy, and works for external pinpoint precision. Personally, I need a flat surface to grind up against when I’m using a toy externally, and the Ardor delivers. It’s also submersible.
