Likewise, folx might really like leather, whereas others find the idea of animal-based toys uncomfortable. I bring all this up because, though my partner and I admire the flogger’s phenomenal artistry, it isn’t a product either of us would have sought out, as we’d both choose a leather, heavier model.

Its nickel-metal handle is extremely comfortable, measuring a little less than six inches in length and a bit over an inch in diameter. The Saffron Flogger is made from a range of vegan-friendly materials. According to the informational card attached to it, it is made of sixty-five percent polyurethane (likely its thirty dual-colored falls), five percent nylon (probably its end loop), and thirty percent nickel (doubtlessly its clinical handle and other metal components).

Build Quality and Dimensions

Sportsheets Saffron Flogger, from the end of its nylon loop all the way to the tip of its thirty red and red falls, is approximately thirty and a half inches long. Of this, the aforementioned nylon loop is approximately 7.5 inches long and a quarter inch wide. The metal handle is just shy of six inches long and an inch in diameter. The thirty, seventeen-inch-long falls to the handle are four less than half-inch across, rounded metal studs.

As for how well-made it is, I’d have to say, on a scale of one to ten (one being so bad as to be unusable), I would rate it a solid nine. It’s extremely solid, with no part of it ever showing any sign of breaking, even under hours and hours of use. In fact, solid doesn’t really begin to describe how sturdy the Sportsheets Saffron Flogger feels—so much so that I wish a lot of my other impact toys were this exceptionally well-made.

Ease of Use

As I said, floggers may look like they would be extremely easy to wield, but in reality, they require a fair amount of familiarization to be used effectively and safely. But while Sportsheets Saffron Flogger is no exception, its near-perfect balance and how its thirty falls are expertly positioned so as to stay bundled and not unexpectedly—and unpleasantly—splay out, you will still need to get used to swinging it.

But good news: as it IS super well-crafted, you’ll probably need way less time to familiarize yourself with the Sportsheets Saffron Flogger than with other, less brilliantly constructed impact play toys.

Versatility

Sure, you can use floggers on other parts of the body, such as backs, thighs, and, very, very, very carefully, on a person’s back. I strongly advise only using them on a person’s butt. The reason for this is that part of the body isn’t just the most arousing to stimulate, but aside from striking someone’s tailbone, it is nearly impossible to seriously injure someone by hitting them with a flogger.
