Sybian-style sex machines have encouraged women to explore their bodies and embrace pleasure for over thirty years. But the reality is, the original model is out of reach for many due to the high price. So, we decided to test several alternatives to see how they measure up in terms of build, sensation, and overall value.
One machine that clearly stood out was the Motorbunny Buck. Its combination of strong vibrations and mechanical thrusting, along with a solid frame and three included silicone attachments, made it a clear recommendation. It also featured two thrust settings for more control, plus the option to adjust intensity through a wired remote or the dedicated mobile app, giving it more flexibility than most machines we tested.
Why You Should Trust Us
Rachel Sommer, Ph.D., a clinical sexologist, has reviewed sex toys professionally since 2016, with a goal she describes as larger than herself, at the center of her operation. “I’m the happiest when I can match people with their ideal products to spice their sex life. It’s a weirdly rewarding job!”
When it comes to saddle sex machines, few can match Rachel’s experience. She bought her first model, a Sybian, back in college and has since used many other products in her work as a product toy tester. In addition to her own vast experience, she worked closely with our test team (Sandra Larson and Shane Davis) to ensure we only recommend the highest-rated Sybian machines.
If you have questions or product recommendations for Rachel, don’t hesitate to reach out. You can call her at +1 307-372-3895 or send an email to [email protected]. We also try to answer all comments left on our articles.
How We Picked the Products
For this article, we started with over 25 Sybian alternatives. With a goal in mind, we reviewed the sex furniture over 14 days, prioritizing build quality, ease of use, design effectiveness, and versatility.
For the first batch of elimination, we got rid of all products without an easy-to-clean removable cover or easy-wipe material. “Ease of cleaning is a major aspect of sex furniture,” says Rachel. “It can make or break your experience, especially if you’re a first-time sex furniture user.”
Moving on, we distributed the remaining 10 Sybian alternatives to our experts at My Sex Toy Guide. The rules were simple – explore as much as possible with the product, including using it as a sex position enhancer and using all the possible attachment combinations. Besides an easy-wipe material, we defined the following test criteria that we could measure on a scale from 0 to 100:
- There’s a lot that goes into the design. Everything from the design quality to the materials used to the weight rating and dimensions affects your experience. Most importantly, they determine the user’s comfort, the portability, and the play limits. So, I recommended that the team include different design options during the self-testing exercise.
- The top alternatives offer multiple possibilities. I included versatile models like the MotorBunny Buck that transform their positioning and placement to make the experience more exciting.
- Like other sexual wellness products, the more settings, the better. So to ensure all users have a great time, the test panel reviewed multiple Sybian alternatives, all with a different number of settings.
- The number and quality of attachments available directly affect your experience. For this reason, we highlighted sex machines with the most varied options, ensuring you get the most from your purchase.
- As stressed earlier, Sybian’s are mains-powered, meaning you don’t have to worry about disposable batteries. Our primary focus was ensuring the power cable was long enough to allow you to choose where to play from without necessarily being tied to the power outlet.
During testing, we rated each test criterion on a percentage scale from 0% (Worst) to 100% (Best). We then calculated the overall score using different weighted metrics depending on the importance of the test criteria. Half the total rating comes from Design (25%) and Stimulations (25%). After that come Materials (10%), Attachments (10%), and Versatility (5%).
After the 30-day ‘test holiday,’ the team returned with a report on every sex furniture. From here, Rachel compared her notes with her colleagues, using a comparison chart to pick the similarities that helped cut down the number to eight. Lastly, the research from review sites and sex toy forums provided more information to further skim the selection down to only the 3 best Sybian alternatives.
Everything We Tested
In this chapter, you can see a comparison table with all the products we tested. As you can see, each row has the test criteria our team used during the testing. To make our testing process even more transparent, we also included the raw test data so you can see how the products performed with each test criterion.
1. MotorBunny Buck: Our Test Winner!
Why we love MotorBunny Buck:
MotorBunny is the highest-rated Sybian and the closest you’ll get to the original. The well-made beast has several upgrades from the original MotorBunny, including the LINK instant Bluetooth technology and non-porous silicone attachments. Our testers thought these changes significantly simplified handling and control while making aftercare much easier. The upgraded model also has two thrust motion toggles (Thrust and G-Thrust), allowing you to experience both vibrations and a thrusting motion. This is something the other models offered, which made Buck stand out.
Something else that made Buck the best Sybian alternative was the four stainless steel eyelets (2 at the front and 2 at the back) that allow you to attach wrist and ankle cuffs for kinky restraint play. “My husband loves BDSM-inspired toys and was ecstatic that I brought the saddle machine home”, our lead product tester, Sandra Larson, wrote in her test report.
So how was the assembly? Well, you’ll be glad to know it wasn’t that complicated. This is how Rachel Sommer summarized her experience: “Before I started my review, I was nervous about the assembly. I’m not even good at assembling IKEA furniture, and this product is the most complicated toy I’ve ever tested. But the instruction manual was straightforward, and I put it together without any issues.”
The testers also appreciated the many attachments. Everything from the flat clitoral stimulator to the internal stimulation ‘Thumper’ and the curved G-spot stimulating attachment, the versatile Buck is perfect for both internal and external stimulation. Most importantly, switching between the attachments is quick and straightforward –snap one off and attach the other.
The Buck boasts independent stroking and G-thrust toggles, letting you choose between in-out movements and an up-and-forward rhythm that mimics someone fingering you for precise internal sensations.
The team also appreciated the wired remote controller that lets you or your partner regulate the ‘Buck’ and ‘Buzz’ with the classic dial knob (left in the image below). And for tech nerds, you can get a dedicated mobile app for simplified control and to initiate features like music control and gamification (right in the image below).
Lastly, the right-angle wedge lets you put the Buck on its side to switch the sex position and angle for enhanced stimulation. It felt sturdy and never tipped over. You can also add a Vac-U-Lock adapter to customize your experience with numerous Doc Johnson sex products. All these goodies made us rate Buck much higher than the competition. It’s just perfect. Full stop!
Minor issues we found during testing:
Our main concern was MotorBunny’s pricing. It costs up to $1,650 for the Vac-U-Lock bundle, a price most people can’t afford. In addition, the Buck is large and indiscreet.
MotorBunny is also loud, and we recommend you use it on a mat or the bed. If that doesn’t work out for you, consider using it while listening to music. And though the buzz setting is quieter, both settings are loud. Your neighbors will probably wonder when the house remodeling isn’t getting completed. Yes. It’s that noisy.
Why MotorBunny Buck is our overall test winner:
The decision to put Buck at the top of the list was based mainly on two features: the innovative stroking mechanism and the pleasant stimulation. Let me elaborate:
- The unique stroking and G-thrust toggles got a 95% rating, with one reviewer describing it as the perfect functionality she’d experienced. No other unit could match this outstanding piece of technology.
- In addition, the stimulations were very pleasant, even in lower settings, with both rumbly and buzzy options. They also got a 95% rating, the highest among the products we reviewed.
Something else that the testers appreciated was the multiple attachment designs, the classic dial controller, and the dedicated mobile app. With a Vac-U-Lock bundle that includes an adapter, two dildos, and renewing powder, there’s a reason why it’s the most recommended alternative to a Sybian.
One surprising feature that everyone loved was the Fappy Bunny game. It features a bunny flying through the air when you tap on it, preventing it from hitting the ground. When that happens, Buck enables the most intense vibrations (Whoah!) It’s an excellent reminder that sex should be fun, surprising, and whimsical. More of this, please, sex toy industry!
If you want to see what Motorbunny Buck looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:
- Material: Silicone
- Measurements: 10″ x 12.49″ x 13.24″
Pros:
- A sturdy and well-made saddle machine.
- Three silicone attachments.
- It has 4 eyelets for kinky restraint play.
- Impressive weight rating – 1,000 lbs.
- Classic dial controller and intuitive smartphone app.
- The right-angle wedge opens your world to more possibilities.
Cons:
- The Vac-U-Lock bundle attachments are made from porous TPE material.
- It’s expensive – $1,550 – $1,650.
2. Liberator BonBon: Our Budget Pick!
Why we love Liberator BonBon:
At $110, the Liberator sex toy mount offered the most value for money, with our testers rating it as the best balance between price tag and quality. They also gave a high rating to the high-density foam, which gave BonBon a luxurious look while still offering a comfortable haven for fun-seekers.
But the downside compared to Buck is that you need to use your own dildos. “I didn’t find that a major issue since BonBon accommodates most dildos and vibrators”, our product tester Shane Davis commented. “You need a 1.25″ – 3″ diameter toy, and you’re good to go. It also works reasonably well as a sex positioning pillow. However, it’s uncomfortable when positioned below your neck or head”, Shane continued.
Liberator BonBon is made from high-density foam, which supports your body weight without feeling uncomfortable. The velvety soft cover felt plush against the skin, allowing you to focus on what matters the most – the thrilling hands-free pleasure with your hands free to explore other areas of your (or your partner’s) body.
The team pointed out that the pouch doesn’t take up much of your vibrator’s usable length, so you don’t have to worry about diminished capabilities with the mount. You get an idea of how to insert a dildo and how much it sticks up in the image below.
Lastly, the machine doubles as a sex position enhancer for couples. Its discreet size props the body during sex, giving you easier access to your partner’s genitals while promoting deeper penetration. All this made our team rate it highly in the versatility test category.
Pro Tip: If your sex toy sinks too deeply in the mounting hole, stuff some socks or other clothing at the bottom to raise it a bit.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, you have to use remote-controlled vibrators/dildos with BonBon. Otherwise, you’ll have to remove the toy from the pouch whenever you want to change the settings. In addition, corded vibrators are unsuitable since there is no hole for the charging cable. And toys with a large base won’t fit inside the mounting hole.
Finally, it has only been tested for a max weight of 300 lbs, so the plus-size crowd must look elsewhere.
Why Liberator BonBon is our budget pick!
At $110, the versatile BonBon from Liberator is the cheapest Sybian machine alternative. But please note that you need to supply your own dildos, but the insertion pouch accommodates all vibrators and dildos with a 1.25″ – 3″ diameter, so we don’t think this will be a major concern for most customers.
In addition, it’s effortless to assemble and use. The foam is very sturdy, so your toys will stay mounted even during heavy straddling. I also loved the half-moon shape, preventing sinking, while the cover was silky-soft on my skin.
Overall, the reviewers gave BonBon a 94% rating for its comfort thanks to the price tag, high-density foam, and plush velvet cover.
If you want to see what Liberator BobBon looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:

- A versatile dildo and vibrator holder.
- The mount doubles as a sex position enhancer for couples during sex.
- It’s made with comfortable high-density foam.
- The soft, machine-washable cover simplifies aftercare.
- It’s available in multiple colors.
Cons:
- It’s not ideal for dildos with large bases.
- The mount moves around a bit.
3. Cowgirl Cone: Strongest Vibrations!
Why we love Cowgirl Cone:
Among the sex machines we reviewed, the Cowgirl Cone posted the strongest vibrations thanks to its robust motor with a maximum output of 1,200 RPM. We couldn’t take the brand at its word: we had to test and see whether it lived up to the hype. Luckily, the team reported more powerful and rumbly vibrations, describing them as better than its competition.
“Even at the lowest setting, the motor felt rumbly, and its low-frequency rhythm was intense,” says Angela Kempf. “I was especially blown away by the extensive range of ten intensity settings and twelve patterns.” The testers loved the multiple settings because they made customization easier, regardless of experience and desired stimulation.
Something else that stood out during testing was the versatile design. The package included different attachments (You can see them in the image above) that allowed the user to switch between internal and external stimulation within seconds. The Saddle provided a wide, grindable platform with multiple nipples on the surface, making it perfect for straddling. Our team loved the tiny cone on the Saddle because it offered more control, allowing for precise external stimulation.
In addition, the Alamo, a 4″ dildo (image below), transitioned the grinding sex toy into a g-spot and P-spot stimulation guru. Although depth play fans might have to look elsewhere, the well-measured dildo felt great, and we believe that most consumers will enjoy the thrill of internal orgasms. Everything from the smooth shaft to the rounded head and wrinkled balls made the piece ideal for people who love realistic-looking sex toys.
Design-wise, the device was more compact than any Sybian alternative on the market. We thought the brand got it right with the dimensions, mainly because it remained robust and versatile for its size. “It was much easier to carry around, and the multiple attachments made it more suitable for different scenarios and users,” Sandra Larson wrote in her test report.
Another feature we couldn’t overlook was its suction cup base. The team loved that it was flexible yet firm, making it easy to use while ensuring it remained glued to the wall or floor. “My partner and I enjoyed the convenience whenever we felt like taking the fun to the shower,” affirms Rachel Sommer.
Lastly, the build quality was phenomenal. We were delighted to learn that the brand used waterproof silicone material for the sex toy and both attachments. Besides simplifying cleaning, the material felt cozy against the vulva and inside the vagina. In addition, the team loved the well-measured dimensions because they made it ideal for people looking for a powerful sex machine that won’t take up half the space in their bedroom.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Our primary concern was the pricing. The model costs $350, which most people will find too expensive. Our reviewers believe it’s worth the price, but budget seekers might have to go with the cheaper Liberator BonBon above.
Why Cowgirl Cone has the strongest vibrations:
- Stimulations: The Cowgirl Cone’s powerful motor was the primary reason we picked it as the most ideal for intense pleasure seekers. Even with the extensive range of twelve patterns and ten intensity settings, we loved how robust and rumbly each setting felt. “The low-frequency rhythm felt intense even at the lower settings,” says Rachel Sommer. We also loved that the vibrations were accurately transferred to both attachments without any power loss, making internal and external sensations precise and stimulating.
- Versatility: Our testers loved Cowgirl Cone’s adaptability and ease of use. It was more versatile than the other models we tested, with the Alamo and Saddle accessories helping switch between internal and external orgasms. Whether solo or with a loved one, the multiple attachments and customizable vibration settings made it perfect for the occasion. More importantly, the team found handling straightforward thanks to the numerous control options, including the built-in interface, remote control, and mobile app.
If you want to see what Cowgirl Cone looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:
Features:
- Material: Silicone
- Insertable Length: 4″
- Diameter: 3.5″ (Saddle)
Pros:
- The most intense vibrations.
- Impressive versatility.
- Convenient remote control and mobile app.
- One-year warranty.
- Extended battery life – 4+ hours.
Cons:
- It is expensive- $350.
- The model can be loud at high settings.
Other Good Alternatives
We put the Cowgirl Premium machine slightly behind Motorbunny Buck because the latter comes loaded with way more features like thrusting attachments, phone apps, and the doggy wedge. However, we still think many of our readers will enjoy the Cowgirl because of the unique 360° swivel rotation that makes clitoral stimulation more exciting. Besides the included clit stimulation attachment with a shallow bump to amplify external stimulation, the Cowgirl has a penetrative 4″ dildo for vaginal action. “The slightly curved dong simplifies G-spot stimulation. With 6 vibration patterns and multiple speeds, Jessica and I enjoyed the experience”, Rachel Sommer reported.
The Tremor is a versatile Sybian sex machine alternative that people who value comfort for a lower sticker price will appreciate. The testers especially loved the silicone pad that lined the top. Besides simplifying the cleaning process, it felt great against bare skin, making the riding experience more comfortable, especially when we tested it for extended periods. Tremor comes with two silicone attachments, ‘The Bridge’ and ‘The Whammy Bar.’ The former features a tiny node in the middle and is perfect for external stimulation. On the other hand, the Bridge has a bulbous design for internal massage with unique mini-nubs for additional clit massage.
While the original Sybian might feel a bit dated, it still does what it was built to do. The range of attachments covers both internal and external stimulation, and one in particular (shaped like a finger) delivered surprisingly strong results during testing. The classic wired controller made it easy to adjust both rotation and vibration levels with precision. It also comes with a padded stool, which adds flexibility in positioning, and a small packet of lube so you can get started right out of the box.
How to Use a Sybian Machine?
- Lube Up. Like you always do with your regular vibrator, lubing up is a must, especially now that you’ll be using a motorized love machine. So, have your water-based lube ready and within your arm’s reach. Also, use plenty of lube and take breaks to reapply as needed. Most importantly, apply lube to the attachment (insertable) and your sex organ.
- Start Slow. For newbies, we recommend starting slow and gradually acclimatizing as you get used to the experience. Start with the cowgirl position, use low settings, put some porn videos on, and gradually crank the volume up.
- Using the Sybian vibrating machine on a soft surface. Although most devices have padding to enhance your comfort, there’s no harm in having more padding, especially for extended periods of play. So, use a soft surface to add comfort and enjoy the orgasms undisturbed.
- Try Different Attachments. Most sex saddles come with different attachments to customize your experience. Some are even compatible with other machines’ attachments, making the options endless. So, whether yours comes with two or twelve attachments, please make use of all of them. If possible, get more compatible attachments to get the most out of the experience.
- Try Grinding. Even though the Sybian does all the work for you, no one said that you couldn’t try grinding. So, if you’re playing on low settings, try grinding slowly and increase the speed as you get used to it. Grinding against the rhythm enhances the stimulation even more.
Note: There are variations on using these devices, so always check the instruction manual first.
How to Use It For Anal Stimulation?
- Get Comfortable with Prostate Stimulation First. Before using a Sybian for anal play, get familiar with prostate stimulation. Start with a regular anal toy and get used to the experience. Whether you prefer anal beads or anal plugs, get accustomed to the experience of prostate play first. Using a regular anal toy with your hands prepares you for what to expect with the product.
- Use Lots of Lube. Unlike the vagina, your anus lacks the self-lubricating function, and you’ll thus need to use lots of lube. We recommend using a generous amount of silicone or water-based lube. Trust me. There’s nothing like too much lube when it comes to anal stimulation. Furthermore, using plenty of lube enhances your experience while reducing the risk of injuries and muscle stretching.
- Use a Lower setting. Just like with vaginal penetration, starting slow is the way to go. Start with the lowest settings possible and gradually work your way up. It might take hours, days, or months before you’re comfortable enough to crank up the dial, but please respect the process.
- Use a Smaller Attachment. You can never be too careful. Can you? Even after you’re comfortable with prostate milking, make sure you use smaller attachments for anal play. Your anal opening is a little more delicate than the vagina, and blasting it with huge attachments can cause muscle tears.
- Try Different Angles. Experimenting with anal play using different angles allows you to establish the safest and most satisfying angle for future reference. This way, you can be safe while at it and still enjoy the experience.
Happy vibing!
Rachel
