We’ve tested dozens of pegging strap-ons, and Lovehoney Unisex Advanced is hands down the best and most comfortable of them all. The versatile kit features a well-made harness around the waist and a compatible 7″ silicone dildo, which felt better than the other models we tested. It has three O-rings (differently sized), so you can switch out and use your favorite dildo with the harness. The harness also felt more comfortable than the competitors, even when worn for extended sessions, and the dildo’s tapered head and curved design simplified penetration while promoting precise prostate stimulation.
Why You Should Trust Us

Sandra Larson has used strap-on sex toys for the better part of her adult life. She has always upsold the idea of switching things in the bedroom, and there’s no better way to do it than using them during sex to penetrate your partner. “My husband loves it! It took some discussions initially, but we never looked back once we tried it for the first time. Seven years later, pegging is one of our favorite things in the bedroom.”
For this article, Sandra brought in other sex experts from My Sex Toy Guide, mainly her husband, Tim Larson, and the sexologist Rachel Sommer. Besides the long-standing expertise, the product testers’ experience (over 200+ sex toys reviewed) stood out. They tested dozens of products, emphasizing essential factors that make the pegging experience complete. Everything from the harness and dildo material to the unique features and versatility was considered.
How We Picked the Products
Led by Sandra Larson, the product test team reviewed close to 40 strap-ons for straight couples to incorporate into their sex life and enjoy the pleasures of power shift. Before giving the go-ahead, Sandra defined test criteria that we could measure on a scale from 0 to 100. These included the following:
- Design. The design must be tailored to ensure both the wearer and receiver are comfortable. Everything from a tapered head to the curved shaft for people seeking prostate stimulation, we prioritized the models that ticked these boxes.
- Type. We included both kits and individual harnesses and dildo options to ensure everyone had a variety.
- Harness Style. Common harness styles include brief, jockstrap, and thong styles. We reviewed different types to make it easy to pick the best strapon for pegging.
- Build Quality. Besides only reviewing silicone dildos, we scrutinized the harness material to ensure the utmost comfort for the wearer. Factors like flexibility were essential to ensure the wearer could adjust the strap-on to fit.
- Comfort. As stressed before, the wearer’s comfort was essential. For this reason, we included dildos with tapered designs and harnesses with comfortable padding around the waist.
- Special Features. Standout features like vibrating motors and dual penetration were top of the priority list. We also included rabbit models for kinky couples looking to reap the benefits of prostate and perineum stimulation.
- Settings. I advised the team to prioritize models with the most vibration combinations. The more settings, the better a sex toy is because it’s easier to customize to your liking. In addition, multiple vibration patterns render the dildo perfect for beginners and experienced folks.
- Versatility. We also prioritized kits with multiple O-rings or dildos because they made it easy for different users to enjoy the experience, regardless of their individual experience.
- Price. Like with other sex toys, the price was a crucial consideration. We included products across the price spectrum to ensure everyone had something.
During testing, we rated each test criterion on a percentage scale from 0% (Worst) to 100% (Best). We then calculated the overall score using different weighted metrics depending on the importance of the test criteria. Half the total rating comes from Design (25%) and Build Quality (25%). After that come Versatility (10%), Comfort (10%), and Price (5%).
Once the team returned with the reports, I brought in my colleagues to help with the analysis. We used comparison charts to summarize the findings and identify similarities. We also went through user reviews from sex toy forums and vendors to get a better understanding of the public perception. From the holistic yet extensive research and analysis, we believe these are this year’s best strap-ons for pegging.
Everything We Tested
In this chapter, you can see a comparison table with all the products we tested. As you can see, each row has the test criteria our team used during the testing. To make our testing process even more transparent, we have also included the raw test data, allowing you to see how the products performed against each test criterion.
1. Lovehoney Unisex Advanced: Our Test Winner!

Why we love Lovehoney Unisex Advanced:
We here at My Sex Toy Guide understand that our readers want to find the answers fast, so let’s not beat around the bush anymore and get straight to our test winner, Lovehoney Unisex Advanced. We picked it as the best strap-on for pegging because our product testers reported that its adjustable, easy-to-use design was better than the other models. This is especially essential to make the pegging sessions a good experience for everyone.
We also appreciated how well the dildo stayed in position without wobbling or falling off during use. “Unlike other kits we reviewed, getting a custom fit took seconds”, our product tester, Rachel Sommer, wrote in her test report. “The waist and thigh straps felt very comfortable (you can see the straps in the image below), and I didn’t have to worry about chaffing, even when my partner and I went on for extended periods”, Rachel added.

Lovehoney Advanced was rated as “Sturdy and well-made”, with a natural feel once it’s well-fitted. The size allowance is enough for larger and smaller people to use the harness without feeling over- or undersized. The material was great too; the only criticism is that it could be softer to prevent chafing. Overall, our testers rated this product the highest in the design category.
Let’s move on to the actual dildo. It’s a 7″ dildo and everyone felt it was well-built for anal play (image below). Everything from the semi-realistic build to the tapered head and smooth silicone finish makes it perfect for the job. “The curved shaft makes it easy to target the prostate with minimal effort. In addition, the 6″ usable length and 4.75″ circumference make it a good size for most users,” our product tester Tim Larson told me.

We also liked that the product was easy to use. Strap-on sex is not smooth sailing for most people, but the Lovehoney Unisex Advanced kit makes it a lot simpler. The harness was easy to adjust and didn’t take much to get started. The dildo also slides into the O-ring quickly and holds in position firmly for penetration. Great design, Lovehoney!
The harness has three O-rings (circled in the image below). The interchangeable rings make it easy to switch between your favorite dildos. Tim and I used a fantasy dildo, a testament to how versatile the product was.

Lastly, the harness has a little pouch against the wearer’s crotch for a vibrating bullet. We thought it was a simple yet thoughtful addition, and especially with the light material, the rumbles are adequate and make the wearer more involved in the action.
Minor issues we found during testing:
The greatest pitfall was the straps. While they’re good quality and will last longer, they’re stiff and can cause chaffing, especially with a tight fit and extended pegging sessions.
In addition, it can be hard to tell when something gets into the wrong position or slips out of place because the wearer doesn’t feel the dildo.
You can only use dildos with a flared base with the harness. While most anal dildos have a flared base for safety, most models in my collection don’t, and I missed out on using them with Tim.
Why Lovehoney Unisex Advanced is the best pegging strapon:
Some of the standout features that made Lovehoney Unisex Advanced stand out included the following:
- Versatility. Lovehoney Unisex Advanced’s package comes with three differently-sized O-rings, allowing you to use multiple dildos with the harness. Notably, switching between the O-rings is quick and straightforward.
- Design. The adjustable harness felt great on the skin. While it might cause chafing on a tight fit, it offers great value for money, considering it only costs $44.99. The included dildo’s dimensions and shape make it perfect for most anal dildo users. Everything from the curved shaft to the tapered tip and 6″ insertable length was well-thought-out and handily beat the competition.

- The kit has three O-rings to enhance versatility.
- A small pocket in the harness houses a bullet vibrator.
- The included dildo’s curved design renders it perfect for P-spot stimulation.
- Adjustable harness accommodates differently-sized people.
- The harness is machine-washable.
Cons:
- The straps could be softer.
- You can only use dildos with flared bases.
2. Desire Luxury: Best Strapless Model!

Why we love Desire Luxury Strapless:
If you have strong Kegel muscles and crave a closer, more intimate experience, you can try a strapless model. Among the ones we tested, Desire Luxury stood out. It’s versatile and well-built with a posable neck, making it easy to adjust the fit and target your partner’s prostate. You can even adjust it up to 180˚. Wow!
Something that stood out was the alluring design (see the image below). “The sleek, long shaft had a tapered head to simplify insertion and a bulbous body to elevate anal sex. Its curved shape also made it easy to hit the P-spot during pegging”, our product tester Tim Larson reported.

On the other hand, the smaller shaft is chubby, and the body is more bulbous to enhance retention. It sits tight in the wearer’s vagina, ensuring you quickly penetrate and thrust the receiver’s ass for extended sessions.
So how were the vibrations? Well, the dildo’s implosive motor has 8 patterns and 12 speeds, making up an excellent range of vibration combinations to explore. Rachel Sommer summarized the motor like this: “The rumbles are powerful even at the lower vibration range. Unfortunately, you can’t adjust the shafts separately, but my partner and I agreed on the intensity level after a few tries.” (We made a review of all the strapless strapon if you want more options.)

The team agreed that Desire Luxury made pegging more intimate than other strapless models we reviewed. It keeps you closer to your partner during sex, making the experience more intimate. With an adjustable joint between the two shafts, you can regulate the closeness, making Desire Luxury perfect for multiple users with different body shapes and sizes.
One word of warning, though. While the posable neck makes Desire Luxury easy to use, it takes Kegel exercises and patience to get it right. “I do plenty of these exercises, but it always feels like a workout when I use Desire Luxury for extended sessions. Using the sex toy with my legs crossed made retaining Desire Luxury in the vagina easy”, Sandra Larson pointed out.

Note: ‘Less explorative’ sex positions like having your partner sit on you or spooning make it easy for the wearer to retain the pony, even without the most toned Kegel muscles.
The team also loved Desire Luxury’s wireless remote control (see image below). The small controller’s velvety finish felt great on the palm, making it much easier to use. In addition, it has an intuitive 3-button interface to cycle through 8 vibration patterns and 12 intensity levels.

Minor issues we found during testing:
Strapless models are reserved for the most experienced sex toy users. Because, unlike harness models, it takes some Kegel exercise training, and even then, the dildo isn’t as stable as when you wear straps over the waist or thighs. You can check out our guide on how to use a strapless strapon if you want to learn more.
You can’t regulate the vibrations separately. For this reason, both partners must agree on whether to have them on. Luckily, numerous vibration combinations make it easy to pick an intensity level that works for both partners.
Desire Luxury is pricey; most people will find $119 too steep. Consider budget-friendly options like the Beginner’s kit from Lovehoney.
Why Desire Luxury is the highest-rated strapless strapon for pegging:
- Design: Desire Luxury’s dual-stimulation design with a posable pony for the wearer and penetrative shaft stood out. The dildo has a posable joint that extends up to 180˚, making it easy to position the wearable pony. The flexibility also makes targeting your partner’s prostate easy with the well-curved shaft.
- Settings: With 8 vibration modes and 12 intensity levels, Desire Luxury has one of the most extensive ranges of rumbles. The wireless remote control avoids unnecessary stops and ensures you can continue while shifting the vibration settings.
If you want to see what Desire Luxury looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:
Features:
- Material: Silicone & ABS
- Girth: 4.75″ (pony), 4.25″ (shaft)
- Insertable Length: 4.5″ (pony), 5″ (shaft)
Pros:
- The flexible neck makes it easy to regulate the angles.
- An excellent range of vibration intensities.
- The bulbous body and curved shaft enhance P-spot stimulation.
- It has a wireless remote control.
- The dildo is completely waterproof.
Cons:
- It takes some Kegel exercises to make Desire Luxury stay inside.
- The remote control uses disposable batteries.
3. Lovehoney Beginner’s Kit: Budget & Beginner Model!

Why we love Lovehoney Beginner’s Kit:
Looking for something more beginner-friendly? Then pay attention to our next entry: Lovehoney Beginner’s Kit. The dildo is smaller than the Unisex Advanced from Lovehoney above, making it a good option for anal sex novices. In addition, the entire kit costs $44.99, a reasonably affordable price.
The versatility was another standout feature. It has three O-rings (image below) of different sizes, so you can explore pegging with different dildos in your sex toy collection. My colleagues thought switching the rings was easy, and anyone could do it.

Something else that stood out from the competition was the harness. The nylon straps felt sturdy and durable (see the image above). In addition, the adjustable straps extend to accommodate 18″ – 68″ waist sizes, making it ideal for different body sizes and shapes. While the straps can be uncomfortable when used for extended periods, my colleagues thought they were solid for such a budget kit.
The harness kit was also the easiest to use among the models we tested, another feature that makes it beginner-friendly. Unsnapping the clips to get the specific O-ring hooked took a few seconds, but everything else was cake. The Lovehoney Beginner Kit is one of the few sex toys that you won’t need a manual for because it is straightforward.

Like the Advanced Unisex device above, the well-made harness features a small pouch on the inner lining for a vibrating bullet. Notably, the material over the pocket is thinner, so the vibrations travel unopposed on the wearer’s crotch, successfully spreading through to the clitoris.
Minor issues we found during testing:
The harness is made from PVC/nylon, making the straps too firm for my liking. And while they feel snug during use, you might have to wear some briefs to avoid rubbing against your thighs.
The harness doesn’t hold the included dildo very well, even with the smallest O-ring. It’s thin and flops around during use, making it harder to aim. You’ll have to use other dildos in your collection if you don’t want to keep using your hands during pegging.
Why Lovehoney Beginner’s Kit is our budget pick:
- Price. Lovehoney’s Beginner kit offered the best value for money among the budget-friendly strap-ons we reviewed. For $44.99, the harness and dildo combo is perfect for beginners on a budget. In addition, the interchangeable O-rings open your world to new possibilities, letting you experiment with different dildos.
- Size. The dildo’s 4.5″ insertable length and 3″ circumference make it beginner-friendly. Especially with the rounded head and smooth finish, it slides in the ass with minimal resistance. On the other hand, the harness has adjustable straps, accommodating an 18″ – 68″ waist size.
If you want to see what the Lovehoney Beginner’s Kit looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:
You can read our Lovehoney Beginner’s Unisex Strap-On review here.
Features:
- Material: Silicone, Nylon, PVC, Polychloroprene
- Harness size: 18″ – 68″
- Circumference: 3″
- Insertable Length: 4.5″
Pros:
- An ideal strap-on kit for beginners on a budget.
- It’s relatively affordable – $44.99.
- The tiny dildo is perfect for newbies.
- 3 interchangeable O-rings.
- The dildo’s curved design enhances precision.
- Adjustable harness up to 86″.
Cons:
- Lovehoney’s harness straps are firm, and you might have to wear light underwear.
- The included dildo wiggles around, making it hard to aim.
4. Lovense Lapis: App-Controlled!

Why we love Lovense Lapis:
We tested several phone-controlled models, and the highest rated was Lovense Lapis. We especially loved how its compatibility with the Lovense Remote app made it versatile and easy to manipulate. Lapis also came out on top on numerous metrics, including the independent motor control and power (it was the most potent strapon we tested).
The Lovense Remote app’s (screenshots below) user-friendly interface makes it easy to manipulate the pegging dildo. Notably, you can regulate the three vibrating motors separately, carefully curating the intensity on the clitoral stimulating knot and G-spot targeting internal arms. This independent control made the dildo stand out from the crowd and enhanced its effectiveness as a pegging strapon.

Besides the ability to curate your own patterns and save up to ten of them, the app lets you sync the vibrations with your music for a completely hands-free experience. We recommend using a high-pitched playlist because it’s much easier to tell the vibrations apart from the swift changes in rhythm.
The app’s integration with the Lovense Lapis was second to none. It took a few minutes to get everything set up, and the user-friendly interface was easy to grasp. I might be biased because I have numerous Lovense sex toys and have used the app countless times, but the other reviewers described the app as very easy to use, and even first-timers will find it easy to follow along.

The posable design was another review highlight because it enhanced the user experience. “I loved the adjustable neck because it made it easy to manipulate the angles and positions for precise internal and external orgasms,” said Rachel Sommer. “Combining a silky silicone material and adjustable body made the strapless strapon ideal for extended wear.” In the image above, you can see how it looks when fully extended.
We also thought Lovense Lapis had a good balance of form and function. The aesthetic and innovative design was alluring to the eyes and effective in targeting the clitoris and G-spot with intense sensations. The body was lighter than Desire Luxury, making it easy to hold onto the dildo for long without fatigue.

Other design features that significantly improved the user experience included button placement. The ON/OFF button location on the base of the dildo (circled in the image above) provided easy access once it was inserted into two bodies.
The reviewers highlighted their surprise at the level of discreteness. The noise level ranged between 47 and 63 decibels, a relatively low number for the powerful dildo.

Minor issues we found during testing:
Unlike the traditional strapons, the strapless models are only reserved for the most experienced users. If it’s your first time using this type of sex toy, buy one with straps. Thank me later!
In addition, the semi-realistic design can be a bummer for people looking for a 100% non-phallic strap-on dildo.
Why Lovense Lapis is the best app-controlled strapon:
- Special Features: The Lovense Remote app’s compatibility with Lapis and the independently controlled three motors were the two factors that made Lovense Lapis our app-controlled pick. The mobile app was the most recommended among the reviewed models, and the multiple motors made the pegging dildo the most powerful in the article. Both the integration and control were straightforward.
- Build Quality: Like other Lovense sex toys, the build quality was the least of my worries. Lapis felt solid in the hand, and the joint, though posable, was very stable. In addition, the body-safe silicone material felt silky, and the non-porous nature made cleaning and maintenance blissful.
- Settings: Even without the mobile app, the Lovense Lapis has 7 pre-programmed settings, which makes for an excellent range of combinations to explore. The Lovense Remote app induces unlimited customization. Whether you want to craft your own vibrations and save them for later use or sync the sensations with your favorite music, the possibilities are endless.
If you want to see what Lovense Lapis looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:
Features:
- Material: Silicone
- Insertable Length: 1.61″ (pony), 3.43″ (shaft)
Pros:
- The Lovense Remote app enhances the user experience.
- Lapis was the most potent strapless strapon.
- Phenomenal design and build quality.
- The posable body was easy to manipulate.
- Ideal for G-spot and clitoral stimulation.
- The dildo was easy to clean.
Cons:
- The semi-realistic design undermines inclusivity.
- Lovense Lapis is ideal for more experienced sex toy users.
5. Vixen Johnny: Best Pegging Dildo!

Why we love Vixen Johnny:
Among all the pegging dildos we reviewed, Johnny stood out for its realistic dual-density design. It felt incredibly lifelike, with a firm inner core and a slightly draggy outer layer that moved naturally during penetration. None of the softer silicone toys came close to matching it. The only comparable product I’ve tried is the RealCock 2 Dirk, but that one is far too expensive for most people. Johnny delivered a nearly identical experience at a much more reasonable price.
Unlike most strap-on dildos we reviewed, Vixen Johnny went a step ahead in realism (image below). The flared base was replaced with a set of realistic balls. While I was skeptical of whether the balls would get in the way, we found that they didn’t. There was a gliding line between the shaft and the balls for the O-ring. In addition, the balls help the dildo stay in the harness without wiggling, making anal penetration easier.

During testing, we found that Vixen Johnny is compatible with most kits, as long as the O-ring has a 1.75″ diameter. We noted that models with reinforced openings held the dildo better, and it didn’t slump like with the slim silicone rings.
Surprisingly, my husband said he couldn’t quite feel the veins and ridges on the shaft during pegging. I teased him that his anal cavity didn’t have a palate, but it turns out my vagina doesn’t have one either, because when I tried the dildo solo, I couldn’t feel the texture. However, we both felt the defined coronal ridge and experienced the wrath of the meaty cock.

Vixen Johnny’s flexibility made pegging a lot easier, and I could angle it just right to hit the spots my husband enjoys most. The soft head was another bonus since he’s not a fan of rigid pressure near his prostate. It gave us just enough firmness to feel amazing without crossing into discomfort.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, the massive dildo is too reliant on the harness. The balls and sheer size mean you won’t enjoy using Vixen Johnny with your hands. The balls get in the way, and your arms tire quickly within the first few thrusts.
In addition, the dual-density design has a drag-back effect, and the outer skin layer is sticky. For this reason, you’ll use more lube to avoid chafing.
Why Vixen Johnny is our favorite pegging dildo:
- Realism: Vixen Johnny’s dual-density design got a 97% average score from the team. While my husband didn’t feel the veins and ridges, the realism is off the roof, making for an organic pegging experience.
- Size: The 7″ insertable length and 5.75″ circumference make Johnny perfect for pegging fans. And while it excludes beginners, its design and size make it an exciting choice for experienced folks.
Surprisingly, the bulging balls don’t get in the way during pegging. They ensure the dildo stays in the harness without wiggling, thus making penetration more straightforward.
If you want to see what Johnny looks like and how to use it, please watch our unboxing and demonstration video below:
- Material: Silicone
- Circumference: 5.75″
- Insertable Length: 7″
- O-Ring Diameter: 1.75″
Pros:
- Incredibly realistic design.
- The dildo is made from hypoallergenic silicone material.
- It’s compatible with most harnesses.
- The curved build enhances internal stimulation.
- Easy to clean.
Cons:
- The drag-back effect necessitates the use of more lube.
- Vixen Johnny’s colossal size is better suited for seasoned peggers.
Other Good Alternatives
Next on our list, we have something for our readers who love strong vibrations: Doc Johnson’s vibrating 9″ kit. The high-quality 2-piece set has a powerful 10-function vibrator that transmits the rumbles throughout the premium silicone attachment. We found the vibrations torque-oriented with a rumblier than buzzier consistency. Even at the lowest settings, the tremor was impactful and distributed well throughout the dildo.
As the name suggests, Happy Rabbit is an effective rabbit strap-on that my colleagues fell in love with. The relatively simple kit lets the wearer stimulate the receiving partner’s prostate and perineum simultaneously for intense dual stimulation. The 7″ dildo has a slight upward curve towards the tip and a rounded head, a genius design that enhances prostate stimulation and simplifies penetration. In addition, the silicone material’s squishy consistency lets you manipulate the dildos to target specific spots, especially with the outer part with a set of bunny ears.
Arguably the most stable strap-on harness for pegging, Spareparts Joque‘s design got a 98% average score (the highest) from the reviewers. The flexible harness has adjustable waist and thigh straps, extending between 20 and 50 inches for a custom fit. Unlike other harnesses we reviewed, Joque by Spareparts felt comfortable on bare skin, and I didn’t need to wear anything underneath. The padded finish on the inside rests nicely on the body, and even when I adjusted it to a tight fit, I didn’t get the sore after-feel. You can find more strap-on harnesses in this article.
We recommend Fetish Fantasy Elite for people seeking to enjoy the benefits of a strapless model with the extra stability of waist straps. The dual dildo design includes an insertable pony for the wearer and an external shaft for the receiving partner. The curved lines on the shaft added to the grip, making the double dildos more stable. The external shaft also had distinct ridges that amplified the experience. With the plush silicone finish, the texture wasn’t as uncomfortable as I’d initially thought. It felt like a smooth lick when thrusting, and Tim was over the moon.
What Types Can I Buy?
Essentially, there are four main types of strap-ons:
Harness Models
Harness types are the most common, and they come with a dildo and a harness that goes around your waist or hips, depending on your preference. The included dildo rests at the front – like a real penis would, with an O-ring holding it in position.

Any decent product should come with interchangeable O-rings so you can use more than one dildo. This is a great way to customize the experience, whether you want to go for girth, depth, or need a smaller size if your bottom is a pegging newbie.
Strapless Models
These products have a unique pony that slides into the wearer’s vagina, who then uses the vaginal muscles to hold it in place. Strapless models usually also carry the hype common with wireless technology, like chargers and AirPods: flexible and efficient.

While this type eliminates the droning straps and massages the wearer’s nerve endings during play, they’re not for everyone. They have a bit of a learning curve, and mastering the art of using one takes practice and patience.
So, if you’re a newbie, consider starting with the strapped models before moving to the other side of life.
Trust me! They might be fancy, but using the pegging dildo can be frustrating at times.
Strap-on Kits
Unlike individual harnesses, pegging kits come with a dildo and harness pre-attached. While newbies like them because there are minimal technicalities involved, you can’t enjoy different dildos with the harness.
However, the pegging kit gives the wearer more freedom to enjoy penetrative sex without worrying about the dildo slipping off during sex.
Hollow Strap-ons
Hollow strap-ons are usually associated with men because they’ve been used to mitigate erectile dysfunction (ED) for many years. However, heterosexual couples can use them for pegging too. Most of them feature straps around the wearer’s waist or hips.
Pro Tip: For hollow strap-ons, you might have to choose a firmer option for pegging. In some cases, you’ll have to slide in a smaller dildo to get consistent firmness.
