How Do I Use The Raven Butterfly Vibrator?

To charge the Raven Butterfly, simply plug in the charger on the bottom of the device, and let it charge for 2 hours. It will run for 45 minutes on the highest speed and 90 minutes on the lowest speed.

To use the product, simply insert it (with some water-based lube, since it is a silicone product), lining the curved shaft up with your g-spot, and the antennae along your clitoris. This might take a bit of doing, especially with lube-covered hands. When you’re ready for your butterfly to take wing, press the button at the bottom of the shaft for 3 seconds to turn it on. My Personal Experience

Packaging

As you can see in the image below, the packaging for this one is beautiful, with the gold accents and the box that opens from the side like a little book. It’s definitely the best packaging I’ve seen from CalExotics, and made me very excited to try this toy.

Design

Again, this sex toy looks incredible. It’s tiny and sleek, and the butterfly resting on top is delicate enough to be cute without making it seem cheap or gimmicky. Unfortunately, these good looks come with some sacrifices. The first thing I noticed was that while the silicone was soft and smooth, it didn’t have that squishy feeling I love in silicone toys, except on the butterfly and on the very tip of the shaft. Instead, it feels like the silicone is just a very light covering over the motor.

It was easy getting the butterfly to fit over my external erogenous zones…at first. Trying to push the power button with my lube-covered hands was a bit of an ordeal. The vibrator kept slipping out of place, since it was the only place I could gain a bit of purchase in order to hit the button. Every time I pressed the button, the same thing would happen, which made me not want to explore all 10 stimulation levels (but I did anyway, because that’s the kind of dedication you can expect from me). After my experience with the Raven, I can see why so many butterfly vibrators are remote controlled.

Material

The silicone feels beautifully soft and smooth, but since the toy is so small and needs to fit the motor in the shaft, there’s not much room for that squishy feeling I usually love in silicone models. The tip of the shaft and the butterfly itself felt great, though, so I did appreciate that.

Ease of Use

The sleek, simple design of the Raven Butterfly Vibrator ironically makes it somewhat difficult to actually use. The button on the bottom is almost impossible to press without knocking the vibrator out of alignment, and sometimes it doesn’t respond to being pressed at all if your hands are covered in enough lube. I had an especially difficult time turning it off.

However, having one button that cycles through the different vibration patterns makes this product simple, if not always comfortable to use. While the memory chip solves part of that problem by starting up at the last setting you used, there’s no guarantee that you won’t want to explore new vibrations every time you play, and even turning the toy on and off is difficult. If you’re much more coordinated than I, maybe this is the toy for you, but for the rest of us, I’d recommend giving this one a miss.

Versatility

Because of its compact design that is meant to target specific areas of your body, it isn’t a particularly versatile toy. For example, you could use the shaft to give yourself some external pleasure, but since that’s what the butterfly attachment is for, there wouldn’t be much point. I wouldn’t recommend it for couples play either, considering the small size and the lack of a remote controller. It is waterproof, so it can be used in the bath when you want to relax, and bubbles just won’t cut it.
