First Impressions & Features

Unboxing

If you share living space or just don’t want the world to know your business, this is a good thing.

However, you should be aware that the shipping box is cumbersome. It weighs in at about 104 pounds. The website lists the dimensions at 59” x 15” x 11.4”, and I verified that those are accurate.

My Personal Experience

I was familiar with this body design since I already own the TPE version. The figure is exactly what I am looking for. Her proportions are delicate, nicely balanced, and natural-feeling.

Packaging

Lyra is a classy lady in every way, including her packaging. The shipping box is lined with protective foam and everything inside is secure. I noted that the body was carefully wrapped in a soft blanket, with hands and feet cushioned by protective bubbles. The head was packed separately in a plastic case for extra protection, and the wig and accessories pack were carefully positioned between her limbs.

The shipping box is discreet without identifiable logos or a return address. Overall, the packaging and shipping made a great first impression.

Design

I mentioned above that Lyra is packed very securely, which meant I had to adjust her limbs just so I could remove her from her packaging materials. But she looks great even just lying in her box. Her body is lithe, curvy, and well-proportioned with small breasts that fit perfectly in a man’s hand. I chose soft gel inserts for both breasts and butt, and they are very responsive to touch.

Once I took Lyra out of her box, I first installed her head. The accessories pack includes an M16 connector, which is how most full-size sex dolls connect the head to the body, so you may already be familiar with this feature. The wig took a few tries to get right, but overall the process was simple, and then I was able to admire her face. Honestly, the face is a priority to me and it looks even better lying next to me than it did in the photos. Even her eyelashes look and feel real.

Material

I knew that silicone was considered an upgrade to TPE, but I was still very pleasantly surprised by the way that this silicone sex doll looks and feels. Silicone is capable of finer detail than TPE, so Lyra’s facial and body features show up with much better definition, even up close.

I had chosen “real skin texture” and what I got was even better than I had expected. I was concerned because I had heard that silicone is stiffer than TPE, but Lyra really does feel smooth and responsive. Her arms, thighs, hips, breasts, belly, and butt are resilient yet soft and comfortable. Overall, she feels solid but also buttery soft and inviting.

This material upgrade was well worth it. She looks and feels real, and silicone is both reasonably durable and easy to clean.

Realism

As I wrote above, I am very impressed by how realistic this sex doll looks and feels. I was satisfied with the TPE version, but the soft-touch silicone is a significant upgrade. It’s clear that FunwestDoll has some of the best makeup artists and body painters in the sex doll space, and the silicone skin texture showcases their skill. Lyra’s makeup is delicate and natural-looking, and her body looks more like a photograph than a painting.

The “real skin texture” option also shines here. Even when she is under bright lights for a photo session, the shading and texture of her skin help her look human. The makeup artists/body painters pay attention to even the smallest details, and the high-quality silicone skin is an ideal canvas.

Skeleton

The EVO skeleton is a stainless steel framework with multiple articulated joints. It has become the gold standard for silicone sex dolls, and that’s why I wanted it for my Lyra. I noted that it sometimes takes a bit of effort to get Lyra into various poses, but it is possible and she holds those poses very well.

She also has built-in wires in her toes. And I intend to do a lot of photography with Lyra, so I wanted to be sure that her feet would be stable. As FunwestDoll recommended, I chose the “standing” option when I was customizing her feet. There are three visible screws on each sole, but this is an acceptable tradeoff for me because the bottoms of her feet are not usually visible.

LHP (Love Hole Placement)

The LHP in the silicone version of Lyra is another upgrade from her TPE cousin. If you choose the soft silicone head option, she can offer you oral sex as well as vaginal and anal penetration.
