The Handy 2 Review – My Sex Toy Guide

The Handy 2 Pro is an app-compatible, VR-enhancing immersive experience for penis owners. It’s not just a stroker; it’s a system that you can tailor, gamify, and connect with. It’s modular, too, so it’s compatible with Fleshlights and other sleeves. You can mount it to a desk, sync it to 2-D or 3-D porn, use it as a handheld in bed, and more.
I was curious how the app experience compared to others in its class and whether it’s truly handy—and I do all that and more in this The Handy 2 review.
Key Takeaways

Overall, this was a game-changer. My partner said if he had $500 to spend on only one toy, it would be this one. It’s expensive but worth every penny. You can save some money by getting the standard version if you don’t care about the upgraded battery experience or the ability to overclock it. It’s the most customizable automatic stroker I’ve ever tested.
Who Should Try It? Anyone who wants an automatic stroker with a customizable grip will love the Handy 2 Pro. It works well hands-free or via the app, making it customizable, ideal for long-distance relationships, and suitable for anyone with grip issues. It would work well for coders, too, since it’s compatible with Open API.
Who Can Skip It? The Handy 2 Pro isn’t the vibe for someone with erectile dysfunction who has trouble getting hard initially. And though it claims it’s one-size-fits-all, it may not fit the largest erections. The cost will price out many people as well.
You Can Buy It on the official The Handy website for $239.
What Is the Handy 2?
The Handy 2 is a customizable, versatile stroker with an easy-to-use design. It’s app-compatible, VR-ready, and allows you to tailor the experience down to the inch. The sound levels never top 60 decibels, and if you’re the coding type, you can use Open API to adapt your experience even further. The Velcro strap allows you to make the squeeze as tight or loose as you like, and you can adjust the stroke length, speed, and rhythm.

The unboxing is lovely. It came with one sleeve, but a drying rack is included, making it easy to keep the sleeve bacteria-free as long as possible. Also included are a storage bag and a band that you can wrap around the sleeve for the perfect grip.

How Do I Use the Handy 2?
Using the Handy 2 to its full potential takes a little getting used to. All the pieces come separately, so you’ll need to charge the base and then assemble it. The website said it would take two hours to charge, and they were dead on. It went much faster when we used the USB-C Fast Charger, available for an additional price, cutting that time down to a third. But here’s a first: the manual said you can use the stroker while charging, so you may not need to wait as long as we did.
First, wash the sleeve and then place it on the drying rack. Once dry, place it in the Velcro strap, tightening it to whatever grip feels most pleasurable. Then attach the strap via the magnet to the stroking machine and twist to lock in place. Put some lube on your erection and inside the sleeve.

Next, use the six-button interface to start experimenting. Press the power button to turn it on. Pressing it again starts the stroking. Left and right arrows turn the speed up and down; the up and down buttons adjust the stroke length. The lights indicate which setting you’re on, letting you know which of the eleven speeds you’re using.
Keep in mind the battery drains relatively quickly at higher speeds. We got about 2.5 hours of use out of it during testing. When you’re finished, wash the sleeve with warm water and antibacterial soap. Put it in the included case, which is the drying rack with the plastic top. Then store everything in the included pouch.

My Personal Experience
My first experience with The Handy company was when I tested their Oh! vibrator. It’s app-compatible and great for long-distance sex. The Handy 2 is its penis-having counterpart, a tech-driven stroker that allows you to immerse yourself in sensations with VR, a partner who is away, or on your own.
We also received some accompaniments that you can purchase for an extra charge. The Fast Charger costs $19 and optimizes the charging experience. It comes with American- and European-style plug-ins. We also received the hands-free desk mount, which costs $60. It is a must-purchase for anyone with grip issues who needs something totally hands-free. It works well, but the tightening knob releases all the joints at once, so you need to get it into the perfect position all at once rather than adjusting each angle separately. There are two places to screw in the desk mount, making it a surprisingly versatile attachment with a modern design. After testing, I would recommend both attachments if you can spare the cash. The Handy also sells storage bags, lube, and toy cleaner if you don’t have a trusted brand of those items already on hand.

There are two versions of The Handy 2: standard and Pro. The standard is the cheaper option, costing $300 when not on sale. It has one hour of battery. The Pro costs $500 when not on sale and provides five hours of battery life on the lowest speeds. Beyond that, the important distinctions are that it has a faster stroking rhythm, it’s cordless, you can overclock it (if you’re willing to void the warranty), it’s black rather than grey, and it has premium bearings.
You’re able to change the stroke length and speed on the fly, but my partner likes to tighten the grip as he nears climax, and there’s no easy way to do that with this stroker. Even with this small shortcoming, this is one of his favorite all-time strokers. It wins his personal award for best stroker for this price bracket. My partner’s favorite is still the Autoblow Vacuglide, but that is more than three times the price and significantly bulkier. The Handy 2 is more discreet, simpler to use, and much cheaper. Plus, there are far more options for customization.
Packaging
The box it arrived on my doorstep in was perfectly discreet. Inside that, the packaging was decent, modern, and functional. It looks nice and works well for a gift.

Design
The design is the selling point on this stroker. It was clearly made by someone who had tried handheld, desk-mounted, and app-compatible strokers, compiled a list of problems, and fixed them. Most of the problems my partner has encountered with strokers in the categories above were solved simply and effectively. Never has he used a desk-mounted stroker that is equally usable as a hand-held stroker.
The design is not just gorgeous, it’s smart and intuitive. The only thing we didn’t love was that the LED light display is bright, and if you don’t like your stroke sesh illuminated, you may want to use a blanket to cover up.

Material
The material was comparable to other sleeves my partner had tried. The soft, silky TPE feels incredible on an erection, and the texture amplifies the sensations. Yet TPE can be tricky to keep clean, and trickier yet to keep free of lint and other debris. It’s slightly tacky even when dry, so you’ll want to keep it sparkling clean. Luckily, it comes with a drying stand, so you won’t need to use a lint-proof cloth to keep this stroker in tiptop condition.
Stimulations
The stimulations are customizable and versatile. Having a Velcro strap that lets you adjust the grip strength makes this stroker an absolute home run. The tightness can mimic your hands-on masturbation sessions, making it comfortable, effective, and easy to enjoy.

The website claims that the motor can reach 20,000 rpm. We couldn’t count that high or that fast, but it did go faster than seemed possible. Notably, you can overclock The Handy 2 Pro, allowing you to adapt the slider settings beyond the default limits. That sounds like some seriously Fast-and-the-Furious-style masturbating. We didn’t try it because it voids the warranty, but it sounds like quite a ride.
A thoughtful touch was that not only can you adjust the stroke length, but you can also adjust the stroke height. This customizability makes it easier for people with larger erections, as it won’t just stroke the base, but you can have it stimulate the head, even if the stroke length of 4.9” does stroke your entire erection.

Sound Level
One upgrade to the Handy 2 is that it is quieter than its predecessor. When I tested the decibels, they ranged from 50 to 60, which matched the website’s estimate.
Build Quality and Dimensions
The Handy 2 Pro’s build quality was sturdy and felt like it could outlast other strokers. The Handy 2 Pro has premium bearings, and everything looked seamless and straightforward during testing. The website says that it has been tested for over one thousand miles of use in their labs, and you can feel its strength when it runs. It doesn’t overheat or overextend, and no part of it feels flimsy.

The dimensions are reasonable and take up much less real estate than many others in its price range. It’s small enough to be handheld and not so heavy as to weigh you down.
The Handy Onboarding App
Some sex toy apps feel glitchy and half-baked, but The Handy app was just the opposite. The user experience is detailed and natural. The Handy Onboarding App has a tutorial that walks you through how to get the most out of this automatic stroker.
When you decide to explore the app, download it, and it will guide you through the pairing process. Once you turn The Handy 2 Pro on and see the purple light, the pairing process takes care of itself. Once inside the app, you have an array of options that could take days to fully utilize. There’s a community where you can interact with posts from other users. But the first step is to do the tutorial.

The app shows you how to customize the stroker for maximum pleasure. It functions as an effective manual. It also has an SLR tutorial (sexlikereal), which demonstrates how to sync the stroker to adult media. You get a free video, and then you’re on the hook for any media beyond that. From there, you can sync to virtual reality porn, with Meta Quest 3 or 3S for your viewing pleasure. PICO 4 and 4 Ultra and Meta Quest 2 and Pro also work. If you don’t have a virtual reality headset, you can sync it to the old-school 2-D porn, if you are viewing from the compatible websites, of which there are plenty. It works with AI chatbots, games, audio erotica, and more. Lastly, it has a placeholder for cam sites, which may add extra versatility in the future.
This sex toy app also works as a remote control, and the customizability is stunning. You can create your own rhythms in exquisite detail, driving the stroker to stroke just the top, just the bottom, or an intricate matrix of depths.

The maintenance tutorial wasn’t ready on the app when we tried it. Hopefully, they will release this part soon. Overall, this was one of the best sex toy apps, if not the best, that we’ve ever used. It wasn’t as aesthetically pleasing as the Lovense app (the goated sex toy app in my opinion), but it was nearly as comprehensive.
Ease of Use
When we first unboxed The Handy 2, it wasn’t immediately obvious how to use it. So, if you’re looking for a stroker that doesn’t have a learning curve, this isn’t your stop. However, the app tutorial simplifies the learning process and helps you understand each important detail.
Versatility
This is about as versatile a stroker as my partner and I have ever tried. It’s buildable and works with other brands. It comes with attachments that allow you to charge it faster, use it hands-free, or explore new textures. App-compatibility makes it ultra-customizable and an ideal choice for long-distance partners. However, it’s not waterproof and won’t work for people with erectile dysfunction, as you must be somewhat hard to get into the sleeve.
Warranty and Support
The Handy 2 comes with a one-year warranty on the motor, gears, and electronics against manufacturing defects and faulty parts. The sleeve is not covered, so when it shows wear and tear, it’s time to replace it.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
Overall, my partner’s gasts were flabbered by this stroker. The one qualm he had was that it won’t work for people with erectile dysfunction. You must be able to get hard enough to put your erection in the sleeve before use.

Alternatives to the Handy 2
Lovense Solace Pro
The Lovense Solace Pro is the closest comparable toy I’ve tested to the Handy 2 Pro. It’s app-compatible, mounts to a desk, and is customizable and versatile. On top of that, it retails for $400, somewhat less than the Handy 2. The Lovense Solace Pro has a longer internal area, which may fit larger penises better. Yet, my partner felt that the Handy 2 Pro is much easier to use with your hands. The Handy 2 Pro solved the problem of making it easy to hold while stroking, and its design is 1000% easier to use and more natural. If price isn’t an object and you want something that will work as a handheld, the Handy 2 Pro is the way to go.

Arcwave Ion 2
Arcwave Ion 2 is the better choice for someone who has erectile dysfunction or prefers a waterproof stroker. It has a sturdier carrying case and a friendlier price: under $200. The drawbacks are that it’s loud, it’s not app-compatible, and the frenulum air stimulation may not be enough to bring every erection-haver to climax. Choose the Handy 2 if you need something hands-free.
