Unboxing

This is the fourth Zalo product I’ve tested, and the third from their Sweet Magic collection. All the toys in the lineup have the same gorgeous packaging design, and I could not love it more. At first glance, it just looks like a pretty, vaguely tarot-inspired design, but the closer you look, the more you can see the naughty little details.

How Do I Use The Zalo Confidence Pre-Heating Wand Massager?

First, charge up the Confidence by taking the little silicone “plug” out of the charging cable. An hour of charge will give you 2-4 hours of playtime. One issue I had with this toy is that the indicator light at the base of the button is a little hard to see, so I wasn’t even sure if it was flashing to indicate it was charging.

To turn it on, press the little star button back once, then press it again to begin the vibration modes. There are 8 modes, and pushing the button back takes you through modes 1-8. Once you reach the 8^th mode, the toy stays there, no matter how many times you push the button back, as opposed to cycling through all the modes. Pushing the button forward takes you back to the previous mode. Continue pushing it, and you’ll end up back at the first mode. Even if you keep pushing it, it’ll stay at that first mode (unlike the Desire, which turned the toy off if you hit the button too many times). Another thing I liked about it: when you turn it back on after a play session, it vibrates at the mode you left off at, meaning you can simply stick with a favorite pattern without having to find it every time.

As with the Courage toy, there was a mistake in the instruction manual. It says to pull the button back in order to turn it off. Actually, you press it forward and hold it for three seconds when you’re ready to wind down your playtime.

To engage the heating function, push the button down until the indicator light glows red/orange. Again, the indicator light is a little hard to see.

My Personal Experience

Packaging

Packaging is one area where Zalo is consistently a winner. The box is gorgeous, with its Art Nouveau designs and the fact that it includes a storage bag! The sex toys are always boxed up securely, and the Confidence was no exception.

Design

Overall, I really liked the design. It looks like a fairy princess wand, which I am absolutely in favor of, and the Swarovski crystal on top is such a pretty, perfect touch. I also appreciated the handle. I’ve tried many a wand vibrator that felt more like a hand vibrator, but this one kept the good vibes where they belonged.

One potential downside is that the head itself is extremely rounded, which makes any kind of precision impossible. Not to get too personal, but I like wand vibrators that have a bit more of a conical shape because I prefer putting the flatter side against myself. Obviously an impossible feat with a toy that has no flat sides. It’s also very flexible, which is normally something I appreciate. However, since the Confidence isn’t super powerful, I found myself trying to grind against it so hard that I was bending the handle. A little more power and a little more stiffness would have been appreciated.

Material

Like the other Zalo toys I’ve reviewed, the Confidence feels amazing. The silicone at the tip of the head has a nice bit of squish to it, and, for better or worse, the head is quite flexible.

Stimulations

The Zalo Confidence has 8 vibration modes, controlled via the button on top. The vibration patterns are more on the rumbly side, which I (and most people, I’m willing to bet) prefer to a buzzy sensation.  While the different vibration patterns are fun to play around with, I would really love the option to control the intensity of each pattern.

I’m sorry to say, the heating stimulation just didn’t do much for me. I’ve been underwhelmed by the heating function on other Zalo toys, but I thought that might just be because I used a lot of lube, which counteracted the warming effect. I assumed that on an external toy, I would feel it a lot more. But I really didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it felt nice against my skin, but it didn’t feel particularly different from any other wand vibrator. And the heating function was on, because I could definitely feel it on my hand.

Sound Level

This toy is extremely quiet for how powerful it is.

Build Quality and Dimensions

With a length of 8.9 in. and a width of 1.5 in., this product is quite small and slim. The quality is obvious, from the soft feel of the silicone to the little crystal in the button.

Ease of Use

As with the other Zalo toys I’ve tried, the button system is the trickiest aspect of this toy to manage. And this trickiness isn’t helped by the fact that the indicator light is really faint, and the manual included with the toy gets an instruction wrong. As I’ve said before, I would much rather put in the time to learn the controls of a great product than have an easy time figuring out how to use a bad one, so I really didn’t have a problem with it. And once you get the hang of the unique button design, it’s quite simple to use.

Versatility

This is a wand vibrator that…wand vibrates. It doesn’t do anything else, nor does it need to. One thing to take note of: it’s splash-proof, not waterproof, so don’t take this toy in the tub with you.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

Aside from the fact that the indicator light is hard to see, I didn’t have any issues with Confidence that weren’t entirely human error.
