Cowgirl Cone Review – My Sex Toy Guide

Sex machines aren’t often known for being portable, let alone rechargeable, but the Cowgirl Cone is here to topple stereotypes by being both. With a suction-cup base and app-compatibility, this sex machine is a party in a box. It also has options for internal and external stimulation, and it’s waterproof and portable. But should you shell out $300 for it? Let’s talk about it in my review.
Key Takeaways

The sex machine? Waterproof. The pleasure? Universal. The saddle? Blazing. This is one of the most versatile, sturdy, customizable, and affordable sex machines I’ve come across (literally). It’s perfect for all genders and easy on the wallet compared to most other products in this category. Cowgirl Cone is worth every penny—especially if you have a vulva.
Who Should Try It? Anyone who prefers strong vibrations to thrusting and can afford a sex machine can’t go wrong with the Cowgirl Cone. It will be especially helpful for people who have had trouble orgasming, thanks to the potent stimulation it provides.
Who Can Skip It? If you need thrusting or dual stimulation to climax, this is too expensive for it to be the right choice for you. You can buy a thrusting-only toy, like the Velvet Thruster series, for around $150.
You Can Buy It on the official Cowgirl website for $350.
What Is the Cowgirl Cone?
The Cowgirl Cone is a revolutionary sex machine, made less for performance than for pure pleasure. Many sex machines seem like extreme, perfect as a centerpiece at an orgy. This one is so easy to use that it could be incorporated into your nightly routine. So many machines focus on intense penetration, but this one is all about the powerful vibrations, with penetration included as an option. Though that may make it sound like it’s geared toward women, it will also work well for P-spot pleasure, as the Alamo attachment is safe for anal use. It’s rechargeable, portable, and will work for everyone.
First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
This is the best unboxing experience I’ve had so far with a sex machine. As you can see in the below image, the container it comes in is gorgeous and modern. The box inside is sturdy and nondescript enough to use for discreet storage. And the Cowgirl Cone herself comes lovingly packaged inside, with the two silicone attachments, remote control, USB recharging cable, and a set of instructions. Lastly, even though this is a large package, the shipping container is unremarkable, and the return label isn’t obvious, either.

How Do I Use the Cowgirl Cone?
After unboxing the Cowgirl Cone, charge it and wash it (and the attachment you plan to use!) with warm water and antibacterial soap. Keep in mind that the charging step can take a while—up to four and a half hours, according to the instruction manual. When I tested it, it lasted just over four and a half hours on the lowest setting (the website suggested it would last three), and then it took three and a half hours to charge. The ratio isn’t super impressive, but that’s okay because the power makes up for it 100%!
The indicator light flashes white while charging (it should look like the image below), and it has an automatic shutoff default that happens after ten minutes of inactivity in standby mode. A solid light indicates it is fully charged, and rapid flashing lets you know the battery is low. The blue light means it’s in pairing mode. The remote control isn’t rechargeable, so if it dies, you’ll need to purchase a CR 2032 to replace it. The remote also powers down after ten minutes of inactivity, or you can hold down the minus button to turn it off.
Planning to use the suction cup base? Just push it firmly on the desired flat surface. Turn the vibrations on to ensure it stays put before hitching yourself to the saddle. When you’re done, use the pull tab at the base that makes it easy to release the suction. If you are going to try an attachment, simply place it on top of the cone. Each attachment has a little silicone lip that you tug around the seam at the top of the cone, just like you might with a Tupperware container. It goes on easily, and it comes off easily—but not so easily that you should worry about it slipping during playtime.
If you want internal stimulation, you’ll need to use the Alamo (dildo-shaped) attachment (you can see it attached below). The saddle attachment is for broad stimulation of vibrations. It carries the intense stimulation from your clit to your perineum. Anyone who prefers pinpoint stimulation may choose to use the Cone without any additional attachments.
Once you have your preferred attachment affixed, grab some water-based lubricant and lube yourself up. Lube up the part of the Cone that you’ll come into contact with, too. Since the product is made from silicone, it’s super important to avoid silicone lube, which can rough up the body-safe surface, making it impossible to sterilize.
Next, decide how you want to operate the Cowgirl Cone. If you plan to use the four-button interface (image below) right on the machine, you can use any button to turn it on. Note: it won’t turn on while plugged in. If it’s locked in travel mode, hold the plus and minus for three seconds to turn that off; charging it accomplishes this as well. When you’ve successfully turned the sex machine on, it vibrates twice, meaning it is in standby mode. Now, press any button to control it. The plus and minus buttons alter the intensity, and the wavy button changes the pattern. The lightning-shaped button will instantly increase the device to maximum strength vibrations; if you hit this again, you return to the prior setting. Holding the minus button for two seconds turns the device off. It vibrates three times to let you know it’s turning off.
If you’re going to use the remote instead, remove the paper from the battery compartment and turn the remote on by pressing any button. The remote lights up once it’s on. Pressing any button again will pair the sex machine to the remote. The buttons on the remote mimic the buttons on the toy and have the same function, making it easy to use. It features an additional center button that pauses the stimulations.
To use the app, download it and put the Cowgirl Cone in pairing mode by pressing one of the buttons to turn it on (the light will be blue once it’s ready). Open the app and follow the instructions. Once in the app, you are in freestyle mode where you can turn up the intensity, switch patterns, or create your own loop. The app offers informational articles, how-to videos, and shopping suggestions. If you press a button on the remote control while you’re connected to the app, the machine will automatically switch to remote-control use and will disconnect from the app.
The saddle attachment has a bumpy texture and is the one that doesn’t look like an erection. When you put it on top of the Cone, you can sit or grind on it. The Alamo probe attachment is the erection and testicles shaped attachment, which is flared at the bottom, making it safe for anal use.
When you’re finished, wash the attachments and store everything in the box until next time.

My Personal Experience
I never know what to expect with sex machines, but sometimes they can be too extreme. I was pleased to find that this one had extreme stimulation without feeling painful or performative. The attachments were fun to swap out, and I ended up loving this sex machine more than those that were five times the price. It works for people of any gender as long as they enjoy vibrations or penetration.
The two silicone attachments are called the “saddle” and the “Alamo probe,” which I think are fun, sci-fi, gender-free, and lend themselves well to role play. I tried the Cowgirl Cone every which way, of course, even without the silicone attachments. The power is so strong that the vibrations travel everywhere, down your thighs and into your stomach. I could hold it without the attachment through the comforter and still get off. That is wild! Overall, I think this is the best sex machine for people with vulvas.
Packaging
This cone-shaped premium sex machine is the best-dressed I’ve ever come across. It’s gorgeous and comes fully assembled, eliminating the very unsexy IKEA-esque process of having to put your toy together before you get to use it. I wish it came with a sample packet of lube, but aside from that, I can’t imagine better packaging for such a sizable pleasure product.
Design
The design is interesting and unlike other sex machines I’ve tried. It is cone-shaped and modern, and you could even use it as a centerpiece at a table. You can tell that women played a role in its design because the focus is on comfort and climaxes. This is hands-down the most vulva-friendly sex machine I’ve tested to date! This sex machine is hard evidence that more women should be involved in sex toy development because the design of this piece is easy to use and an orgasm-delivering product.
Material
The Cowgirl Cone is made from waterproof, body-safe, medical-grade silicone. It’s soft, silky, and sturdy. No complaints here!
Stimulations
Even on the lowest settings, this sex machine packs power. When I tested the battery, the vibrations remained strong throughout the four and a half hours it lasted. The very last thirty minutes, there was a slightly less powerful vibration, but overall, I was flabbergasted by how strong and how long this cordless sex machine could last. It barely got warm after all that time, too. It is one of the rumbliest, most intense vibration devices I own.
Sound Level
Sex machines are loud. But knowing that, this one has a rather generic sound. So, one might think you are mowing the lawn or drilling something, you know, in your bedroom late at night. It could be heard clearly throughout my house when I used it, and it was even more amplified when I used the suction cup on a hardwood floor.
When I tested the decibel levels, they ranged from 57 to 61, but somehow, they felt even louder.
Build Quality and Dimensions
The build quality is smaller than a lot of other sex machines I own, which means this one only makes me scream—not my closet. It’s cone-shaped, and the attachments are small, making this unbeatable for people who want a sex machine but are short on space.
On the other hand, the small stature means that if you use the suction cup base and rock around a lot while you mount the dildo, it might come off the floor or wall. I didn’t have this problem, but it’s a possibility. If you don’t have strong thighs, consider using a sex swing to take some of the pressure off and make riding a little bit more comfortable (you can see how it compares in size to some of my other sex machines in the image below).
The dildo is a medium-small build, but it is the perfect size for G- and P-spot stimulation. And the saddle is large enough to sit on without being cumbersome.
Cowgirl App
The Cowgirl app was easy to use and fun to navigate. It doesn’t add a ton of functionality, but the hands-free capability makes it worth your while. It took me a while to get the feel for it because, at first, I couldn’t exactly pinpoint how to get it to work. And it would vibrate for a second and then quit. When I tried it the second time, it worked like a charm, and there were no subsequent connectivity issues.
Ease of Use
This product is surprisingly easy to use. Usually, something with a ton of versatility takes a while to learn because there are so many features to explore, but that’s not the case for the Cowgirl Cone. The four buttons on the machine mimic the buttons on the remote, so you don’t have to learn two different systems. Attaching the alamo and saddle accessories is foolproof—it’s about as difficult as sealing up your leftovers. The app couldn’t be more straightforward, and the waterproof materials make this a cinch to clean. This sex machine is the first to rate 10/10 for ease of use!
Versatility
Sex machines are usually versatile, thanks in part to their typically high prices and numerous features. But this one is uber versatile. It targets clitorises, G-spots, and P-spots safely and intensely. You can play hands-free thanks to the app. It’s waterproof, in case you want to use it in the shower or tub. It has a suction cup base, making it easy to use for people with grip issues. You can attach it to the wall of the shower and back up on to it for the ride of your life. It also has a wireless remote, allowing you to avoid fumbling around for the buttons on the device itself. The cone supports up to 500lbs of weight, making it inclusive for most bodies. Lastly, it has a travel lock so you can take it on vacation with you. And if you do, then I want to travel with you.
Warranty and Support
The Cowgirl Cone comes with a one-year warranty and a lifetime quality guarantee.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
This sex machine performed beautifully during testing. The only downsides are the volume and the price; beyond that, I think it’s a nearly perfect sex toy.
Review Summary

Cons
Alternatives to the Cowgirl Cone
Motorbunny Buck
The Motorbunny Buck is the end-all, be-all of sex machines geared toward people with vulvas and anyone who enjoys penetrative stimulation. It has thrusting and vibrating capabilities and eyelet hooks for BDSM use. You can use it with Chaturbate, select from numerous dildo and vibe attachments, and it has fun gamification components on its app. It is the most powerful sex machine I’ve ever interacted with, but it is huge, loud, and expensive at $1649. The Motorbunny Buck is only worth it if you must have the highest of the high-end and can afford the jaw-dropping price.

Hismith Pro Mini
The Hismith Pro Mini is a good place to start if you want a penetrative-only sex machine. It’s $380 but powerful, sturdy, and app-compatible. The Pro Mini also has incredible speed and comes with an excellent storage case. However, you’re out of luck if you want clitoral vibration.
