Liberator Wanda is a sex cushion with the perfectly sized hole for your standard wand vibrator. It’s narrow enough to straddle, making it an ideal choice for anyone who loves wands but dislikes holding them. What’s even better is that it makes doggy style comfortable and pleasurable, doubling your fun. Will it turn up the heat in your bedroom? Find out in my review!
Key Takeaways

Doggy-style lovers and wand users will want to buy this, pronto. It’s durable, easy to maintain, comfy, and surprisingly versatile. Yes, it’s also over $100, but the value is well worth the price if you can afford it. Anyone with grip issues or who likes wands but would prefer hands-free stimulation will have access to endless erotic adventures with this pillow. The pillow princess in your life probably deserves a better pillow, and this is one of the best.
Who Should Try It? If you are a wand user, I’m going to go out on a limb and say Liberator Wanda will be mind-blowing for you. If you have doggy style sex with your partner, then this is a must-buy. And if you use a cordless wand, that is the ideal trifecta. Beyond that, it’s a must-try for people who have lower back pain, need extra support during doggy style, or have grip issues and need to have hands-free vibration to climax during sex.
Who Can Skip It? If you never use wands and don’t like doggy style, this isn’t the right choice for you. Further, if you want to frequently change the speed or rhythm of your wand during masturbation, this may not work well because it’s not easy to reach the buttons once the wand is in place, depending on where the buttons on your wand are. And if you prefer dildos, consider the Liberator BonBon instead.
You Can Buy It on the official Liberator website for $169.
What Is the Liberator Wanda?
The Wanda is a sex toy mount made specifically for wands, whether they’re corded or cordless. It’s a sturdy cushion that you can straddle and sit on, all the while the wand is mounted firmly in the hole. It’s the perfect design for someone who needs hands-free wand stimulation, and it is a novel option for people who love doggy style sex but would like wand stimulation during penetration.
During my review, I noted that there are two different iterations of the Liberator Wanda. On the Liberator website, Wanda comes with a wand, the Infinity Rechargeable Wand, but you can purchase the cushion on its own on third-party sites, and the cushion is cheaper on its own. The wand that comes with it is cordless, which is handy because that’s what works best with this pillow.
First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
The Liberator Wanda comes in a plain, discreet cardboard box. What is inside isn’t particularly giftable; it’s better. It’s sustainable. As you can see in the image below, the sex pillow is wrapped tightly after being vacuum compressed, so it takes up less space and uses less fuel to ship. But this means you want to unbox it carefully, according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Rather than cutting through the plastic, find the seam and carefully unroll it. It is so tightly packed that it’s nearly impossible to cut through the plastic without gouging the foam, so resist the urge to rush.
Unrolling doesn’t take much time at all, but then you’ll need to wait twenty minutes before use. This waiting period allows the foam to expand, which may take up to one full day to reach full size. But don’t worry, you can begin using it after twenty minutes. The Wanda is shipped already inside the foam cover, but the velvety cover is separate and ready to wash.

How Do I Use the Liberator Wanda?
After unboxing, it’s time to power up your wand and get to work (play). You can wash the cover in the washing machine and then allow it to dry. Put the liner-covered foam cushion into the cover, aligning the curves in the cover with the curves on the mount (It should look like the image below). Then, zip it up and grab your wand. Plug in your wand if it needs to be connected to power for use, or ensure it is fully charged if it’s rechargeable. Choose your favorite setting and turn the wand on.
Place the wand in the hole and ensure that the base is fully enclosed, particularly if it has a cord protruding from the bottom. You don’t want the base of the cord to be forced into an awkward position, especially if you’re using the cushion on a rigid surface. Then, straddle the cushion and enjoy. Wash the cover if necessary before next time, and always keep the cushion in the liner to protect it from the elements.

My Personal Experience
Sex furniture is like lube. If you’re not using it now, your sex life could be a lot more comfortable. It’s a necessity for most people, especially long-term couples who will inevitably experience injuries, health conditions, or general joint aches and pains. The Liberator Wanda is basically a fever dream of my teenage self, an upgraded version of the couch cushion on which I used to grind, but this one has a spot for a wand vibrator. When I received the product, I was extra excited because everything I’ve tried from Liberator has been essentially life-changing.
My partner and I were eager to give this cushion a test drive, and we couldn’t wait for it to dry after washing it. But we did. Putting the clean cover onto the cushion was easier than I expected, though I accidentally tried to do it backwards first. I flipped it over, and it was super easy yet snug when fitting into the cover.
Once it was set up, we were ready to try it every which way. I was surprised that some of the larger, standard-sized wands felt somewhat awkwardly big in the hole, wink, wink. The handle was so long that sometimes the head poked out quite high, meaning I would have to be upright on my knees during penetration from behind. But full disclosure: I am lazier than that, and I prefer to be bent over and rest on my forearms. Leaning over worked well for both of us. My partner wouldn’t have minded another couple of inches of height on the pillow, but he’s a tall guy. It was comfortable, sturdy, and so much more fun than trying to keep a vibrator in place with my hand during doggy-style. It’s something we will be using a lot.
The dual lining (image below) kept the foam safe and clean throughout all the testing. Nothing seeped through the velvish cover. However, if it had, we would have been able to wipe the foam down with a wet towel so that it would be clean and ready for next time.
If you are wondering if I tried this with every wand I own, the answer is yes. And when the wands were mid-sized, it worked like a dream. I especially enjoyed it paired with the Magic Wand Rechargeable and the We-Vibe Wand 2, both of which are rechargeable. I didn’t worry about bending the cord that way, and they were long enough to reach easily. And I also tried it with the Kiiroo ProWand, which was a little too short but powerful enough that I could still get off if I really ground down into the cushion.
One thing I noticed is that it’s best to play with this cushion on your bed or couch, anywhere that is a soft landing. The cord sticks out of the bottom, and if you’re rubbing up against the wand, you don’t want too much pressure on the cord, or you could break it. I felt somewhat nervous using the Liberator Wanda on our hardwood floors with the cord coming out the bottom, so I put it up higher inside the cushion, but then I had to sit up taller for it to reach my clit. Gravity plus the grinding sent it right back toward the floor, so overall, I preferred using this with a cordless wand.
Further, you can’t easily change the settings once the wand is in the hole. If you like to start slow and then ramp up little by little, it might be annoying to take the wand out, change the rhythm, and then put it back in repeatedly. It worked well for me because I typically use just one setting.
Lastly, I was a fan of the marketing. Liberator has a playful marketing video that I enjoyed watching, entitled Love All Ways. I love seeing visual metaphors for sex, like an overfull mimosa glass or an orange being aggressively squeezed, both of which were included in the video. The people in the video were well-dressed, but when I think of Liberator products, I think of the opposite. Liberator products are like the pajamas of sex; comfortable and something you’ll use every day. Liberator makes sex cozy, easy on the joints, and accessible. Plus, the pillows are that hard-to-find mix of soft but not collapsible, so I use them as often binge-watching Yellow Jackets as I do bending over with a vibrator. And for me, that makes this a must-buy, even though it’s pricy for a pillow.
Packaging
The Liberator Wanda’s packaging, though not especially giftable, is its own kind of genius. They genuinely care about the environmental impact of mailing giant packages across the globe. To lower their carbon footprint, Liberator uses a vacuum compressor that eliminates 90% of the air from the foam and shrinks the box size by more than half of what it otherwise would be. This reduction may seem like it doesn’t make much of a difference, but it does. The decrease in box size saves extra materials, and it takes less fuel to ship. However, they take it a step further, sourcing materials locally to save on fuel costs and upcycling their leftover foam trim.
Further, the box it comes in is a plain cardboard box. Nothing about it seems sex related. You can count on their discretion.
Design
Liberator makes quality sex accessories, and the Wanda is a prime example of that. It’s a firm cushion that doesn’t crumble under pressure. It is comfortable to sit atop, lean against, or prop yourself up on for hours at a time.
The wand cut-out accommodates basically any standard-sized wand. The hole goes all the way through the cushion, allowing for use with corded or cordless wands. It’s an excellent way to make wand usage more accessible to those who need hands-free pleasure.
Material
The website calls the material velvish, likely because it feels like velvet but isn’t. It’s better. It’s not reminiscent of the scratchy dresses I wore in the early ‘90s, and it’s plush and comfortable on the skin. Plus, it’s machine washable.
The double layers add an extra element of security, too. Whether you are a squirter or things just tend to get wet during sex or masturbation, the inner lining inevitably catches anything that happens to seep through the outer cover.
Further, it works for people up to 300 lbs. This means that it will work for most straight-sized people.
Build Quality and Dimensions
The build quality was incredible, and I’ve never used anything less from Liberator. The foam is sturdy and comfortable, and the liner feels like it was built to last.
The dimensions worked like a dream for me. They weren’t too wide for my hips, and I have semi-narrow hips. It may not be perfect for everyone, but I wouldn’t change an inch. My partner, on the other hand, would have liked it to be two inches taller for doggy-style, but that will depend on how long your partner’s thighs are. And overall, he was able to use it comfortably, so the height was not a significant issue for us. (You can see how the size compares to my Liberator BonBon in the image below.)
Ease of Use
The cover is machine washable, which is my number one concern with sex furniture. Getting the cushion into the cover is straightforward, and getting it into and out of the liner is a cinch, too. The liner is moisture-resistant, which is clutch for a sex cushion. And regular-sized wands stay in place for hands-free wand use, so this sex toy mount couldn’t be any easier to use.
Versatility
This sex cushion is more versatile than it appears at first glance. You can use it with or without the wand to make sex positions more comfortable with a partner or even while lounging around the house. I used it without a wand for more comfortable doggy-style with my partner and found it to be an excellent accessory.
Warranty and Support
The Wanda, like all Liberator products, is covered by a one-year warranty. Unopened items can be exchanged within thirty days, but you will be responsible for covering the shipping and handling charges. Defective products are eligible for exchange, and the products you return are upcycled, so you don’t have to feel guilty about the extra waste. Impressive!
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
There were very few issues with this sex toy mount, the first of which was that it won’t work with all sizes of vibrators. The teeny ones especially will not reach all the way, but the huge ones may stick up farther than you want. It works best with rechargeable wands. Other than that, I am a huge fan of this sex toy equipment.

Alternatives to the Liberator Wanda
Liberator BonBon
The Liberator BonBon is another sex toy mount by the same company, so the build quality, warranty, and materials are much, if not exactly, alike. The BonBon is built a bit higher, so anyone who likes height in their sex cushions may find this more comfortable, especially if you play with a tall partner.
Unlike the Wanda, the BonBon doesn’t have a hole that goes entirely through the cushion. That makes it better for use with a dildo, G-spot vibrator, or cordless wand. Corded wands will not work at all. I found the ergonomic build of the Wanda to be overall more comfortable. They are roughly the same in price, so it will depend on which toys you use most frequently.
