When you think of dual-stimulation toys made for women, most people imagine an internal component and an external one. But the We-Vibe Temp has reimagined the dual-stimulation device, creating something truly sensational: a warming-and-cooling vibrator. This temperature-controllable lay-on vibrator seems perfect for solo play, doggy-style partnered penetration, or paired with other toys. I’m turning up the heat in this review to see if it stands up to scrutiny.
Key Takeaways

Anyone who loves temperature play will want to invest in this durable, sensually intoxicating vibrator. This device was a fast favorite in my household and will be getting frequent use. It’s expensive but worth every penny.
Who Should Try It? Anyone who loves gentle temperature play will find this device massively simplifies the process. It’s also reliable and effective as a regular vibrator.
Who Can Skip It? The We-Vibe Temp won’t work for people who need tons of power or rumble to get off, nor will it work for those who prefer pinpoint stimulation. Power-hungry people are better off buying a wand vibrator, such as the We-Vibe Wand 2 or the Magic Wand Plus.

What Is the We-Vibe Temp?
The We-Vibe Temp is a lay-on vibrator that cools to 68 degrees, heats to 100 degrees, and vibrates for clitoral stimulation. It’s a body-safe, waterproof, upgraded palm vibrator. It’s ergonomic and easy to use, and it adds a sensory element that not many other sex toys incorporate. Bonus: it’s not as messy as ice or wax from a hot candle, and it makes it much easier to incorporate temperature play into the everyday.

First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
The unboxing experience with the We-Vibe Temp was fun. The package looked tempting, and I love it when I feel like I’m unwrapping a gift, which was the case with this vibe. It came so carefully wrapped, so everything stayed tucked in place and arrived at my doorstep without a scratch.

Inside the package, I found the lay-on vibe, a nice storage bag, a magnetic USB recharging cable, safety instructions, and a user guide (you can see all the items in the image above). The only thing you’ll need to pick up before use is some water-based lube.

The We-Vibe Temp has cool features, including:
- A heating and cooling element, in addition to vibration
- Three patterns and five intensity levels
- 68-100 degree temperature range
- Rechargeable
- Body-safe, waterproof materials

How Do I Use the We-Vibe Temp?
After unboxing, charge the Temp. The website said it would last up to two hours and take ninety minutes to charge; the user manual said it would last up to sixty minutes. When I tested it, it took ninety minutes to charge and then lasted three hours and twenty minutes on the first setting after a full charge.

Next, wash it with antibacterial soap and warm water, and dry it with a lint-proof towel. Grab some water-based lubricant if you want and slap this vibrator on your mattress. Lie on top of it and use the buttons on the side to play with vibration alone—or add heat or cooling into the mix. After you press the heating or cooling button, you’ll notice the metal plate in the middle start to change temperature. That is the side that needs to be up if you want temperature play. It works quickly, and you’ll notice a temperature change in under ten seconds. A long press of the vibration button turns the vibe on, and then shorter presses cycle through the intensities and the patterns. Turning off the vibration will also turn off the temperature, so press and hold it for three seconds after you finish. Then, rewash it and store it in the bag it comes with.

My Personal Experience
Temperature play is undeniably fun; both my partner and I enjoy it. Whenever we get out our candle or ice, we always wish we did that more often. It’s not a part of our routine, though, because who wants to sleep on sheets wet from ice melting or, worse yet, stain them with wax? Certainly not us.
Plus, there’s the pomp and circumstance that goes into temperature play. Talking about it beforehand, making sure you have the right kind of ice or a body-safe candle on hand, and putting sheets on that you don’t care about staining. And for us, it changes with the seasons. Ice in the winter? You won’t catch me doing that nonsense. I like to pair my temperature play with something that feels like a treat depending on the weather. The We-Vibe Temp simplified all that. No mess, and no pre-planning except for making sure it was charged. A vibrator that you can use to tease, massage, and literally heat things up in the bedroom? Sign us up.

From the get-go, we both loved it. Yes, it’s a vibrator, so it was lights-out for my clit. But it’s also fun to get a cool or warm buzz on the nipples or perineum. We both enjoyed it, though I ended up using it the most.
One thing I noticed is that you don’t have to lie on this vibe. I found that it worked just as well squeezing it between my thighs during solo play. It performed exceptionally when I used it hands-free, and none of the vibrations were deadened by the mattress. However, if you’re squishing it between your thighs, it’s important to remember that you might be pushing the side buttons. At one point, I began to wonder if it was overheating, and then I realized I had crushed it with my thighs and turned on the heating element by accident.
Though the cooling and warming features were mild, they were noticeable. The cool was crisp and refreshing, and the warm was toasty but not hot. On both ends of the spectrum, they were gentle. They didn’t elicit that gasp that an ice cube or hot wax would, so we didn’t use it for kinky play.
I loved this idea so much for so many reasons, but not least because the addition of another sense helped me stay more present, more mindful during sex and masturbation. It kept me tuned in and turned on, and I couldn’t get enough of it. So many male masturbators have a heating function to add to the realism of the experience, but I’ve found very few clit vibrators that have the same ability. This upgrade was a welcome change and something I absolutely fell in love with.
Though the $125 is steep, it’s in line with the value. This is one of maybe five vibrators that I’ll keep within arm’s reach for weekly play.
Packaging
As you can see in the image below, the packaging is A+. I even loved the instruction manual it came with, as it showed a lesbian-presenting couple using this product. I was also pleasantly surprised that it came with a storage bag.

Design
We-Vibe put a lot of thought into the Temp’s design. Want to know how I know? As you can see in the image below, the buttons are on the side, which is precisely where you want them on a lay-on vibrator. So many sex toys put the buttons somewhere difficult to reach, and that’s an obnoxious barrier to orgasm, if you have to stop and look at your sex toy right when things heat up. But that’s not the case with the We-Vibe Temp. The buttons are easy to find, so that you can alter the stimulations intuitively.
The shape of this vibe will work well for those who like broad stimulation, but as it has no corners, it won’t work well for pinpoint stimulation. For reference, I’m someone who prefers pinpoint but can get off from either, and I had no problem reaching climax with this. Further, thanks to its slim design, it slips nicely between you and the mattress, and it works just as well between you and a partner, whether you’re in doggy, missionary, or spooning.

Material
The materials are spot on, and they’re also IPX7 waterproof, making this a submersible vibrator. Use it in the tub, on the beach, and wash it with ease. But more importantly, it’s sleek, soft, and feels even better once you add a drop of lubricant. The blend of materials is elegant, and the metal plate transfers heat and cool efficiently.
Stimulations
The number of intensity levels this vibe offers is limited (there are three to choose from), so I was curious about what type of sensory spectrum they would provide. It starts low and slightly rumbly, but the following two settings are pure buzz. The website boasted rumbly vibrations, and that’s a little bit of a stretch. After testing, I found the vibration to be only rumbly on the first setting and the temperatures to be surprisingly vibrant. However, the power is potent.

I was relieved to discover that you don’t have to use the heating or cooling element alongside the vibrations. The ability to use this vibe at room temperature adds to its versatility, as you may not want temperature play every day.
The website said that it has three intensity levels and three patterns, but when I tested it, I found three intensity levels and five patterns. Pressing the vibration button takes you up through the three intensity levels, through five patterns, and then back down the three intensity levels. It wasn’t the most intuitive setup, but it worked well enough without adding another button. If you turn the intensity up as you get closer, you may find that you’ve already gone through the intensities and move onto the patterns, and then it is several clicks until you get back to where you need to be. It’s slightly tedious, but minor.

What surprised me was how quickly the temperature stimulations sprang into action. Mere seconds after I pressed the cooling function button, the metal plate noticeably cooled, feeling tingly and unexpected. The warm worked right away, too, but was less noticeable. The heat and the cool were fun additions, but they weren’t as extreme as an ice cube or the drip of a candle. All the temperature settings are comfortable, which makes it perfect as a sensual enhancement, but it won’t work for kinky temperature play. The coolest setting doesn’t feel anything like ice, but it is refreshing. The hottest setting isn’t close to the drip of candle wax, but it is cozy and warm. I imagine they limit the temperature settings for safety reasons, so no one burns themselves while using it.
Sound Level
When I tested the decibels, they ranged from 50 to 56. However, when the vibrator is pressed between your pelvis and a mattress, it is much quieter. It was not bothersome in any position, and a little music made it a nearly invisible component during partnered play.

Build Quality and Dimensions
I am the fortunate owner of many, many We-Vibe devices, and I’ve never found one with a less-than-stellar build quality. The build quality is solid, seamless, and modern. The temperature plate in the middle works well and looks elegant. The dimensions are similar to those of other palm-sized vibrators (You can see it next to Dame Pom in the image below).
Ease of Use
The We-Vibe Temp is blissfully straightforward to use. There are only three buttons to use: one with heat waves that controls the heat, one with a snowflake that controls the cooling function, and a ~ button that controls the vibration. These buttons are easy to reach since they’re on the side of the toy. Press and hold each button to turn on that stimulation.

The materials are waterproof, so cleaning is a cinch. It comes with a storage bag and has a great battery life. The features are intuitive, so it couldn’t be any easier to use.
Versatility
I give the We-Vibe Temp a moderate score for versatility. It has dual stimulation, but you must be able to get off from vibration alone for this to work as a sex toy.
This vibrator isn’t app-compatible, and that makes sense. Not every sex toy needs to be app-compatible, and in cases like this, it would overcomplicate a straightforward experience.
Since you can use this for temperature play, it works to get things sexy for people of any gender, making it somewhat versatile. It is also slender enough to use during penetration in basically any position. The noise is noticeable but not distracting, so this is an ideal accompaniment for partnered sex.
Warranty and Support
We-Vibe covers the Temp with a two-year warranty and a 100-day pleasure guarantee.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
Even though I love this vibe enough to make it my go-to weeknight plaything, I found a couple of details that could be tweaked for a better user experience. The temperature scale is limited, which makes sense, because it needs to be a safe experience. But that also means it won’t work for kinky temperature play, as the coldest temp is cool and the hottest temp is warm. I also wouldn’t have turned my nose up at a few more intensity levels.

Alternatives to the We-Vibe Temp
Dame Pom
The Dame Pom is one of my all-time favorite vibrators, so the We-Vibe Temp is in rare air being compared to it. The Dame Pom is an absolute all-star for an everyday clitoral vibe. It’s so soft and silky that it wins the texture competition. But the Temp offers stronger vibrations and greater versatility, thanks to the temperature elements. On the other hand, the Dame Pom has a beak, so the design will work for people who enjoy broad stimulation or pinpoint stimulation. The Pom isn’t meant to be used as a hands-free vibe, so its shape isn’t conducive to use as a lay-on vibrator or for hands-free play. The Dame Pom retails for about $100, making it easier on your wallet.

Lovense Osci 3
The Lovense Osci 3 is a heating rabbit vibrator. It retails for $200, much more than the We-Vibe Temp, but with that hefty price tag comes a whole lot of versatility. It has clitoral vibration, a thumping and heating G-spot arm, dual motors, and one of the best apps on the market. The Osci 3 would be the better heating vibrator for a cammer or anyone who needs G-spot stimulation to climax. It’s also a better choice for someone in a long-distance relationship, since you can use the app to let your partner control the toy from anywhere in the world.

The vibrations are buzzy, but the uniqueness of the G-spot stimulation makes this worth the splurge, especially for someone in the market for an upgraded rabbit.
