The Dip 2.0 Silicone Rechargeable Waterproof Vibrator by Dame promises to be the perfect way for beginners to, ahem, dip their toes into the world of sex toys. Is it worth taking the plunge, or is this dip a bit of a drip? Read on to find out my experiences.
Key Takeaways

If you’re new to sex toys and don’t know where to start, the Dame Dip 2.0 is a solid option. With its soft, squishy tip and thoughtfully angled ridge design, this product makes it easy to explore exactly what makes you feel good. As a bonus, it can be used both internally and externally. However, the integrated grip and limited settings made my experience with it not completely pleasurable.
Who Should Try It? With its simple and thoughtful design, this would be a good choice for someone looking to buy their first toy. Since it’s designed for both internal and external stimulation, it can also do double duty for anyone who doesn’t need more than one toy in their collection. It’s a one-stop shop for your self-exploration needs.
Who Can Skip It? The insertable length of the vibe is pretty small, so if you crave deep penetration, move along.
You Can Buy It on the official Dame website for $44.
What Is The Dame Dip 2.0?
An improvement on their Dip 1.0 design, the Dame Dip 2.0 is a rechargeable, waterproof vibrator that can be used for either external or shallow internal stimulation. It is designed as a beginner vibrator to help those with vulvas and clits explore their own pleasure. With its elegant, yet functional design, it can come in handy in many scenarios.

First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
The unboxing was simple and basic, which makes sense for a product like this—someone getting their first vibrator might not want an explosion of “I masturbate” stickers and necklaces with anatomical parts on them (no shade to Womanizer for including that in their packaging—it just might be a little intimidating for some people). The soothing blue packaging on the Dip makes it look almost clinical, which, again, I can see being perfect for someone’s first sex toy.

How Do I Use The Dame Dip 2.0?
Since it is for beginners, the Dame Dip 2.0 is appropriately easy to use. It charges via a USB-C cable, which is included in the packaging. An LED light near the base will blink green while charging, then blink solid green when fully charged. If the battery is low, the LED will blink yellow when it is turned on. The LED is pretty faint, so the low battery indicator might not be noticeable right away. It also has a travel mode, meaning it won’t turn on accidentally. To enter travel mode, hold the button for ten seconds until the LED flashes red. To exit travel mode and get back to vibrating, just plug it in to charge.

The device only has one button, also located near the base. To turn it on and cycle through the intensity levels, simply press the button. When your play session is over, hold the button for around three seconds.

My Personal Experience
The thing I immediately liked about this product was the integrated grip. The first time I used it, I was sitting at my desk (maybe reading fanfiction, maybe not, who’s to say…), which would have been quite difficult with a more finicky vibe or something like a clit sucker. While it’s not my usual position for testing out vibes, I found it quite easy to use and appreciated the versatility offered by the grip design. You’d be hard-pressed to find a position where you couldn’t use this vibe.
The thing I immediately disliked about this product was…the integrated grip. The grip isn’t supposed to stimulate any of your exciting parts, but it sure does stimulate your hand. When I used the Dip 2.0 internally, I genuinely couldn’t tell which feeling was more intense, the buzzy vibes inside me or the buzzy vibes on my palm. It’s distracting and, honestly, a little uncomfortable.
My other issue with the Dame Dip 2.0 is the fact that it only has one button that cycles through the intensity levels. Since this model is designed specifically for beginners, I think it would behoove them to add +/- buttons so that the user could bring it down a level without having to go through all the intensity options, especially if this is their first time using an internal vibe.
Packaging
The packaging for the Dame Dip 2.0 is simple and functional. It comes with a USB-C charger and an instruction booklet, which I always appreciate (You can see all the items in the image below). The older I get, the less enchanted I am with packaging that involves little extras (stickers, etc.) that I never use.

Design
The design of the Dame Dip 2.0 is an improvement on their original Dip in a few key ways. While both are made of medical-grade silicone, the 2.0 charges via a USB-C port (as opposed to a magnetic charger), has a squishier tip, a flat, stand-up base, and a low-battery indicator. I found the flat base to be especially useful, since I often don’t know what to do with my pleasure toys if I need to put them down for a second to reapply lube or just take a little break. It’s those little details that really make a product stand out to me.
Dame is a company that makes products by and for women, and it really shows in the design of this vibe. The ridged tip made it especially useful for external stimulation, since you can easily adjust its positioning depending on whether you prefer precise stimulation or a more all-over vibe. I love a good clit sucker, but I confess I don’t always love having to hold it in the exact correct position. A product like this is a lot easier to play around with and experiment with. The small tip also made it easy to use internally. Again, while I did like the versatility offered by the integrated grip, I did not love the fact that my hand seemed to feel the vibrations more than the rest of me.

Material
On their website, the brand boasts that their Dip 2.0 has “increased squish” in the tip. While I’ve never tried the Dip 1.0, I can say I did love the squishy, soft feel of the silicone. Rigid toys have their place, but to me, they never feel nearly as luxe as silicone. Though since it is silicone, be sure to pair it with a water-based lube.
Stimulations
The Dame website (and the box below) rates the Dip 2.0 at a 2/4 in terms of strength intensity. It has five different intensity levels, but only one vibration pattern.

Sound Level
The Dame website rates the Dip 2.0 at a 2/4 in terms of sound as well.
Build Quality and Dimensions
Made of medical-grade silicone, this vibe stands at 5.8 in., with an insertable length of 5 in., and has a width of 1.3 in.
Ease of Use
The Dame Dip 2.0 has only one button, which goes through the intensity levels. Personally, I’d prefer having the option to decrease intensity, instead of having to cycle through intensity levels in order to get back to my preferred intensity. For a cheaper adult toy, I could absolutely understand just having one button, but for $45, I’d like to be able to have that complete control.

Versatility
The Dame Dip 2.0 is designed to be used for both internal and external stimulation. While I definitely got more out of the external vibes, I can imagine it would be perfect for a first internal vibrator. While I had my problems with the grip, it is easy to hold and makes it possible to use for partner play, or solo play in a different position than usual.
Warranty and Support
This product has a three-year warranty.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
Aside from my gripes about the grip and lack of customization, the only issue I found with Dip 2.0 was that the LED battery indicator was pretty faint and hard to see unless you’re looking for it.
Review Summary

Alternatives to the Dame Dip 2.0
If you want much more control over intensity levels (and vibration patterns), check out the Dame Arc, which has the versatility of Dip 2.0, or the Dame Pom, which only offers clitoral stimulation.

If you want something even simpler, the Zee Bullet Vibrator might be worth a try.
