First Impressions and Features

Unboxing

The Zalo Sweet Magic collection has some of the prettiest packaging I’ve ever seen. My only issue with this one is that the cardboard was a little torn on the top of the package. It came sealed in plastic wrap, so there wasn’t a hygiene concern, just something to take note of.

How Do I Use The Zalo Courage G-Spot Massager?

As with the Zalo Desire, this toy took a little bit of time to figure out, especially since the instruction booklet got things a little wrong. First, you charge it by unplugging the little silicone flap from the charging port and inserting the charger (it should look like the image below). Charging time takes about an hour for 2-4 hours of use. The light on top will flash as it charges, then glow steadily when it’s all charged up.

To turn it on, push the little star button backwards once, and the light underneath will glow to indicate it’s on. Then, press down on the button to turn on the heating function. The indicator light will flash orange to indicate that it’s working. If you decide against the heating function, simply press the button down again until the light turns back to white.

With some water-based lube, slide the toy in, and explore the eight vibration modes by pushing the star button back once more. Pushing the button back will take you through vibration modes 1-8, and if you push it a ninth time, it will simply stay on the 8^th vibration mode, as opposed to cycling through. To go back a vibration mode, push the star button forward. If you push it forward 8 times, it will stay on the first vibration mode. To turn off the Zalo Courage, push the star button forward for about three seconds.

My Personal Experience

Packaging

The Zalo Courage comes with a USB charger, a bag (always a huge plus), and an instruction booklet. While instruction booklets are not usually noteworthy, this one had a pretty glaring error. It says, “Turning off: Pull back the button for 3s”. Unless this toy is designed after someone with a very unusual penis and I’m getting the front and back confused, you’re supposed to push the button forward to turn it off.

Design

What can I say? This product is absolutely gorgeous. It’s smaller and sleeker than the Zalo Desire (again, making it a much better beginner choice), and the handle is just so pretty, especially with the crystal embellishment.

Material

The Courage vibrator is made from Dow Corning food-level silicone with exclusive Softek™ surface coating. In terms of squish, it’s not as firm as the Desire, but not quite as squish-tastic as the Eve. The head is flexible and bendy, which I always prefer over rigid toys that offer more precision.

Stimulations

The Courage offers 8 different vibration modes, which is plenty, but as always, I would prefer it if there were a way to increase or decrease the intensity of each vibration pattern. With something this good looking and at this price point, I think it’s really a shame it doesn’t have that option. The vibration modes have a range in intensity, but in general are pretty strong. The website says the 8^th mode is a “mix mode”, but personally I didn’t feel much of a difference.

I like the fact that the modes are controlled by going back and forth, as opposed to cycling through them. Especially for a beginner, if a vibration is too much, being able to go back a step should always be an option without having to turn the toy itself off and re-insert it.

While the heating function feels good, I found it didn’t make a huge difference in my overall enjoyment. Maybe it’s because only the tip gets heated, or maybe it’s because I used too much lube, but I barely felt the sensation when the toy was inside me.

Sound Level

I was very impressed by how quiet this toy was compared to how powerful it was. The website lists the maximum volume at <40dB, which is about the level of a humming refrigerator. Again, that is wild for how powerful this one is.

Build Quality and Dimensions

As with the other Zalo sex toys I’ve tried, the quality of this product is obvious. It has a total length of 8.1 in, making it much smaller than I was expecting. The insertable length is 4.33 in, and the insertable width is 1.3 in. At first glance, the toy looks like it has a lot more girth than it actually does, mostly because the insertable length is relatively small.

Ease of Use

There’s a difference between a toy’s being easy to use and being simple to use. For example, a toy that just has one button that cycles through different vibration modes would be simple, but having to cycle through every vibration in order to get back to a favorite makes the toy less easy to use. All of which to say, the Zalo Courage is not simple, but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy.

Pushing the button forward and back is actually a great system that works even with lube-covered hands, and I really liked the fact that you can go back a vibration mode without having to cycle through every single option. One of my few issues with the Desire was the fact that if you weren’t keeping track of which mode you were on, it was easy to accidentally turn off the device, but the Courage doesn’t have that problem, since it stays at the first vibration level.

Versatility

The Zalo Courage isn’t particularly versatile, and that’s fine. The pre-heating feature is the most noteworthy function it has, but it is a g-spot vibrator, plain and simple.

The Zalo Desire Pre-Heating Thruster

Though not a perfect toy, I enjoyed the Zalo Desire a bit more than the Courage, for the simple reason that I preferred the thrusting sensations to the more basic vibrations of the Courage. Despite its lovely looks and complex button system, the Courage is a basic vibe at heart. While that makes me want to recommend it to a beginner, if you’re past the point of basic vibes and want something a little more special but equally beautiful, you might get more out of the Desire.

The We-Vibe Rave 2

The We-Vibe Rave 2 is also on the pricy side, but it offers more exciting features than the Zalo Courage, while being a lot more, let’s say, traditional looking. While it doesn’t have a heating function, it does have two motors, 10 different vibration modes, and 10 intensity levels, allowing for a more customizable experience. It’s also app-controlled.
