I ordered three toys from The Natural Love Company, and they arrived in one box, with each toy in its own cotton drawstring bag. Within the bag, each product was encased in a biodegradable bag made of PLA and cornstarch. While I always enjoy opening a giant box of toys, I liked this experience a lot more than having each toy come in its own giant plastic box. The bundle even came with a discount code, which I always appreciate!

How Do I Use The Cassia?

First, charge up the Cassia with the included magnetic charger. The lights on the two buttons will blink to indicate that it’s charging and hold steady when you’re ready for playtime. To use the external wand part of the vibrator, long press the up button, and continue pressing it to cycle through the vibration patterns. Once you’re feeling all relaxed, turn off the external wand vibes by long holding the up button. Then, simply put some lube on the internal section and slide it in, long pressing the down button to start the vibrations, and continuing to press it in order to cycle through the different modes. My Personal Experience

Packaging

I really liked the packaging on this toy, even (or maybe especially) the “Fuck yourself, not the planet” slogan on the inside of the box. Everything about the packaging points to how eco-minded this company is, from the biodegradable wrap around each toy, to the cotton drawstring bags they come in, as opposed to each having a separate box.

Design

This is a beautifully designed vibrator, and is extremely intuitive to use. While the wand and the shaft are both perfectly suited to their respective jobs, the toy as a whole looks integrated, and not like some cobbled-together monstrosity. Even the brand logo near the wand looks sophisticated and minimal. If you’re the type who gets a little weirded out by overly cute, whimsical toys and just want something chic and sleek for your self-pleasure, you’ll love the look of Cassia.

Material

The insides of the Cassia are made from recycled ocean plastics, meaning it’s much more environmentally friendly than your average vibrator. The outside is made of soft, smooth silicone. One thing to note about this toy is that it doesn’t have any squish to it. The wand head is a little bit flexible, but the internal massager is solid as a rock. I’m usually a fan of squishy toys, but I didn’t mind the rigidity of this one. Since it is so slim, the fact that it was so solid allowed for more precision than a super squishy, flexible model.

Stimulations

One thing that struck me about this toy was how unique the different vibration patterns were. Once I got past the standard vibration that just increases in intensity, I really enjoyed exploring each different pattern. Both externally and internally, the vibes were powerful without being unusably overwhelming.

Sound Level

This toy is pretty quiet, so you shouldn’t have a problem if you want some discreet self-pleasure time.

Build Quality and Dimensions

With a length of 9 inches and a width of 1.6 inches, this toy felt like just the right size. It wasn’t too long for the wand part to feel unwieldy, but it wasn’t so short that the g-spot stimulator was unsatisfying.

While it didn’t have the squishy silicone I usually look for in a toy, the overall build quality was excellent. And the lack of squish did have some benefits; when I used it externally, it was easy to really grind up against the wand.

In the same way that vegan versions of foods can be a little…off-putting, sometimes environmentally friendly versions of products just don’t work as well or feel as good. This was not the case with the Cassia, however, and if I didn’t know anything about the company, I would have assumed it was made from the same materials as any other vibrator.

The only aspect of the design I didn’t like was the color. Hypothetically, I get the appeal of millennial, minimalist beige, but I was the kid who got in trouble in seventh grade art class for hogging all the rainbow colors. I just love color! Even a pastel pink option would have been nice!

Ease of Use

The Cassia didn’t come with an instruction booklet, nor was I able to find instructions online. It was so easy to use, though, that it didn’t really matter. The two halves are controlled by two different buttons that cycle through the different vibration modes. Even though the buttons are close together, since you have to long press each of the buttons to get it started, there’s a very minimal chance of starting up the g-spot vibrator while you’re using the wand or vice versa.

Versatility

I’m always a little skeptical of toys that claim to be able to do two things, but Cassia was marvelous as both an internal and external vibe. I think that having the two functions be separate parts of the toy really made a difference, as opposed to trying to design an internal shaft that could also work well externally. Another great thing about having two buttons is that the vibrations don’t spread to my hand while using it.

This toy is also waterproof, so if your self-care routine includes a bubble bath, you might want to consider letting Cassia join you for the evening.

The toy is long enough that I would also recommend it for couples play. A lot of smaller toys seem too finicky to want to use with a partner, but the length and the easy button layout would make this one simple to use on someone else.
