The box arrived a little bit crinkled, but I’m blaming the shipping company for that, not Lovehoney. The rabbit was nestled in foam packaging, and behind it is a charging cable, a safety guide, and a quick start guide.

How Do I Use The Lovehoney Mon Ami?

The Lovehoney Mon Ami is easy to use. First, charge it up with the included USB cable. The run time on a full charge is about 50 minutes. With some water-based lube, slide the shaft in so that the shaft is stimulating your g-spot while the outer part is resting against your clitoris.

To turn it on, long press the center button (the one with the circle). To cycle through the different vibration patterns, keep pressing the center button. My Personal Experience

Packaging

The packaging for the Mon Ami was just what I like—not too luxurious and self-consciously sexy, but also not so pared down that it makes the product seem like a medical device. I also like the fact that they kept the charging cable and the guides behind the toy, so that when you first open the box, it’s like the product is being presented to you by itself, without the extras making themselves known.

Design

Rabbit vibrators are hard to get right, but this one succeeded on all counts. The internal and external components were able to hit their assigned spots, so to speak. The lack of “ears” that a traditional rabbit toy has made it especially easy to stimulate the clitoris without too much fumbling. I typically prefer rabbit toys without the ears, so I especially liked that feature. The shaft was somewhat wedge-shaped, in that it was tapered top to bottom, but not really at the sides. But its shape and slim diameter of 1.43” made it easy to insert.

I also really appreciated the buttons on the handle. They were easy to reach and easy to press, even with lube on my hands. The button system is intuitive, and I never hit the wrong thing by accident or had to fumble around for the right button. Button systems are one of the things that make or break a product for me, and the Mon Ami did not disappoint.

Material

The silicone on Mon Ami is soft, of course, but doesn’t have any flexibility or squish to it. It still feels luxurious, but it might not be to everyone’s taste. While I typically prefer a bit of flexibility and squish, I didn’t have any problem with the silicone on this toy.

Stimulations

Mon Ami has 7 vibration patterns and 5 speeds to choose from (for a total of 35 combinations). The ability to select patterns and intensities is what separates a good toy from a great toy, so I really appreciated that aspect of it.

One potential issue is that even with its dual motor, the vibration intensities never get that intense. I don’t particularly love super intense vibes, but I needed it to be going at full speed in order, um, Eiffel my Tower (bake my baguette? Hon my hon hon?). So, if you crave a lot of power and intensity, this will be one for you to skip.

Sound Level

While Mon Ami isn’t loud, I wouldn’t call it super quiet either. But since it’s not listed as a travel toy or a discreet toy, I didn’t have a problem with that.

Build Quality and Dimensions

With a total length of 9 inches and a diameter of 1.43 inches, Lovehoney Mon Ami is just the right size—not so big as to be unwieldy, but not so small that it’s awkward to hold. While the silicone wasn’t super flexible or squishy, it still felt nice and smooth. I’m not totally sure why there was a little plastic cap on the base, but it definitely added to the aesthetic appeal.

Ease of Use

The Mon Ami was extremely easy to use, since the button system was both intuitive and easy to reach. If you want to be able to customize your pleasure but don’t want to learn a complicated system, the Mon Ami is for you. While I love a lot of customization options in my toy vibrations, I’m almost glad they didn’t include the option to control the internal and external components separately, since that would have complicated the button system. I think this toy had a very happy medium of simplicity and customization.

Versatility

The dual motors on the Mon Ami meant that it was pleasurable to use both inside and out. The external vibrations seemed a little stronger than the internal ones (probably because the external component is so much smaller), so if you strongly prefer internal stimulations, this might not be the one for you. Since the handle was so easy to hold, and the buttons so easy to press, it could also be a great choice for partner play.

It’s also waterproof, so you can take it for a dip in the Seine (or, well, your bathtub).

Warranty and Support

Lovehoney offers plenty of options if you don’t get along with your Mon Ami. If you take one look at the box and decide you really don’t understand the Parisians, you can return it (unopened) within thirty days. Minor Issues I Found During Testing

My only issue with Mon Ami was the fact that the vibrations never got very intense. To me, the point of being able to adjust a toy’s intensity is to be able to make it suit your exact desires, and I think plenty of people are going to desire something a little stronger. Having 10 different vibration speeds would have been preferable for a truly customizable experience.

The other issue with this rabbit vibrator is that it only lasts 50 minutes on a full charge. While I lasted nowhere near that long, if you prefer longer play sessions (or simply more play sessions before you have to recharge), then that’s something to be aware of.
