MysteryVibe Crescendo 2MysteryVibe Crescendo 2 Review – My Sex Toy GuideThe MysteryVibe Crescendo 2 is a medical device, designed by doctors not just to enhance sex but to help solve the widespread yet largely neglected problem of dyspareunia for women. It’s also a unisex vibrator, happy to pleasure penises, nipples, and perineums of people of any gender. But when it’s not on sale, it costs over $300. Is it worth the splurge? Let’s find out together in my MysteryVibe Crescendo 2 review!

Key Takeaways

4.8 out of 5 stars4.8 out of 5 stars

I have not been this excited about a sex toy in a while. If you have pain upon insertion or during penetrative sex of any kind, run, don’t walk, to snatch this up. It’s award-winning for a reason. If nothing has worked so far to help with pain during sex, this is your very best bet. It’s flexible, durable, and works like a charm.

Who Should Try It? If you have pain during penetrative sex, vaginal dryness, or are going through menopause, this vibrator is worth every penny and more.

Who Can Skip It? If you don’t have pain during sex, you can probably find a cheaper vibrator with a more powerful motor that will get you off, like the We-Vibe Touch X or the Womanizer Vibe.

You Can Buy It on the official MysteryVibe website for $230.

What Is the MysteryVibe Crescendo 2?

The MysteryVibe Crescendo 2 is a doctor-designed sexual wellness device, with several joints for flexibility and a whopping six motors to bring stimulation to every part of your vagina. Studies have shown that it can reduce Genito-pelvic pain and penetration disorder by 480%. Furthermore, it hasn’t just won one award; it’s a 60-time winner. It’s been in medical journals multiple times for improving female sexual function and reducing anorgasmia.

This vibrator also comes in a package that includes water-based lube or a remote control for an additional charge. You can use it hands-free with an app or via the buttons, and it’s waterproof and rechargeable.

How Do I Use the MysteryVibe Crescendo 2?

You know the drill: unbox the vibrator, charge it, then wash it. The user manual said it would last two hours after a one-hour charge. When I tested it, it lasted over seven hours on the first setting and then took roughly an hour to charge. Other vibration patterns, and certainly the higher intensity levels, would drain the battery faster.

Now you have a choice: use the four-button interface or control the device with the app. The four-button interface isn’t intuitive, so you may have to reference the user manual the first few times you’re getting used to the Crescendo 2. The down button, when held for two seconds, turns the vibrator on and off, a very uncommon choice for a power button. The plus button increases the intensity levels, and the minus buttons decrease them. The triangle up and down arrows take you through the twelve different default patterns. Pressing the plus and minus buttons simultaneously for four seconds will activate and deactivate the travel lock. Otherwise, you can plug in the device, and the travel lock will turn off.

The device chargingThe device charging

If you prefer to use the app, download it onto your device. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled, and then follow the instructions in the app. When Crescendo 2 vibrates twice, it’s ready to pair, and the app will automatically connect to it. The app isn’t designed for long-distance use, but you can control the vibrator from up to nearly twenty feet away. You can create your own patterns or download new ones.

Next, grab water-based lube and slather it on the vibrator and yourself. Use plenty, dyspareunia fam. The more you use it, the less pain you will feel during insertion.

You don’t have to bend the vibe before you start using it. You can insert it a little and then bend it, one joint at a time, to determine which shape feels most comfortable. The only way it doesn’t bend is sideways, so you have a lot of options to work with. You can insert it and bend it all the way around, so the vibrations rub against your clit, if you wish.

The joints are sturdy, so once you bend the vibrator into place, it remains in that position until you straighten it again. If you don’t want to have to come up with shape configurations on your own, the website has ideas to help inspire your imagination, whether you plan to use it alone or with a partner, and whether you want to use it on your vagina, the external portion of your anus, or against your penis or nipples.

When you’re finished, wash it with warm water and soap, and store it away from your other silicone toys, to prevent the materials from degrading each other. Grab a makeup bag or other small, cloth bag to keep your sexual wellness investment protected from the elements.

My Personal Experience

A vibrator that’s meant not only for increasing pressure but also for reducing pain? Now that’s something that will appeal to a not-so-niche audience, to the tune of 40% of vulva-owners. I’ve met a lot of vibrators in my day, and most of them are meant for pleasure or novelty, if you check the manufacturer’s site. But not this one.

The universe smiled on me by allowing me to test out this device. After medically induced menopause, I’m someone who often struggles with pain during sex, a problem I never had before. Now, if I’m going to play with a large dildo, the warmup can take hours—or worse, days, leaving me sore for prolonged periods afterward.

If you don’t have dyspareunia, consider yourself lucky. The best way I can describe it is if, instead of feeling great, penetration felt like slamming your vagina in a car door. Everything pinches. You grit your teeth until the feeling subsides, which, for me, was when penetration ended. After one use of the MysteryVibe Crescendo 2, I felt noticeably better. After a week, I felt like my old self. It. Is. Magical.

If you need me, I’ll be yelling from the mountaintops how well this device cures vaginal pain.

Packaging

As you can see in the image below, the packaging is more giftable than you might think a medical device is capable of being. All in all, the box is modern and sturdy.

Design

Medical experts designed Crescendo 2 to be flexible and vibrate at six precise, targeted locations, increasing lubrication, blood flow, and arousal. Its shape is meant to mimic fingers; that’s why it has so many bendable joints that stay put. The bendable joints and frequency of the vibrations are intended to pinpoint areas in your pelvic floor that need stimulation to reduce pain. It took eight years of medical research to dream up and perfect this design, and it shows.

It is slender and long, but it curls up nicely so that the vibrations can reach your clit. It is the first design that didn’t immediately cause me pain. The joints work well but feel sturdy, and I feel confident this vibe will stand the test of time.

There are two “ears” at the tip of the vibrator, meant to surround your clitoris with stimulation. These are rather firm, and so they were occasionally uncomfortable, but not so irritating that they got in the way of my orgasm.

Material

The MysteryVibe Crescendo 2 is made from water-resistant silicone. It’s easy to clean, soft, and durable. You can even use it in the bathtub!

Stimulations

The device has six motors, which ought to be enough to deliver substantial sensations. The vibrations are powerful but buzzy, and they aren’t overwhelming.

Sound Level

This thing has six motors, so no, it’s not quiet. When I tested the decibels, they ranged from 46 to 55.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The website states that the MysteryVibe Crescendo 2 uses “defense-grade components.”. This is a military standard, and the quality was evident as soon as I held the vibrator. The dimensions are smaller than many other internal devices I own, but that’s perfect for people who experience pain during penetration.

Ease of Use

This isn’t the easiest-to-use vibrator I’ve received. As you can see in the image below, the buttons are easy to bump, and the down button doubles as the power button. That said, it’s a medical device, not a toy, so plan to spend a moment learning about it before it works its magic on you.

The App

The MysteryVibe app is basic but effective. When I first downloaded it, it took fifteen minutes for a “firmware update,” and then connected effortlessly to the toy. There isn’t a ton of extra function, and there’s no gamification, but it does allow you to operate Crescendo 2 hands-free. It also offers a visual of which motors are stimulating you at any given time, so it’s helpful as you get to know the settings.

Versatility

The Crescendo 2 is not a standard vibrator, nor is its highest function to provide an orgasm. This device is something more akin to a Kegel toy that helps improve your sexual fitness. If you don’t have pain in the bedroom, this won’t help. And while it can get you off, it’s not affordable enough to buy unless you have dyspareunia.

However, it is bendable enough that you can rest assured you’ll find a comfortable setup, no matter the shape of your vagina. And you can position it to provide clitoral, G-spot, and perineal pleasure. With twelve patterns, sixteen intensities, and the app allowing you to create more, it’s plenty versatile and works well for people of any gender.

Warranty and Support

MysteryVibe offers a 24-month warranty and a 30-day money-back policy.

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

The button functions are mysterious, confusing, and easy to bump, yes, but hey, what do you expect from a company called MysteryVibe? And that is a small price to pay for a sexual wellness device that delivers on its promise. And speaking of small prices, that is not what you will pay for the Crescendo 2. It’s pricy, but it’s also FSA/HSA eligible, which may help you mitigate the cost.

Alternatives to the MysteryVibe Crescendo 2

LELO Beads

LELO Beads are another excellent purchase to consider for your sexual wellness. They are weighted, body-safe balls you wear to help strengthen your pelvic muscles. They’re only $69, so they’re a great budget pick if you’re not ready to go all-in on the MysteryVibe Crescendo 2. You can choose from different weights and gradually scale up the intensity as your pelvic floor becomes more toned. They are wearable, making for excellent foreplay on a date night. One major downside is that they don’t provide enough stimulation to get you off.
