How We Picked the Products
I selected dozens of sex pillows for this article, picking those I’ve used over the years and sampling recommendations from fellow sex experts. After assembling the product test team, I defined test criteria that we could measure on a scale from 0 to 100. These included the following:

Minor issues we found during testing:
Our main concern was the pricing. The Wedge/Ramp combo costs $240 – $300, money that most people will be skeptical about spending on a sex pillow.
In addition, you need to take great care when unboxing this thing. The Liberator Combo comes vacuum-compressed, so for the love of god, don’t use a knife as I did! I almost cut the pad by accident. Please read the instructions thoroughly!
Finally, the velvet material and the interlocking threads attract dust more than other sex pillow materials I’ve used. For this reason, you’ll need to clean the ramp/wedge combo more often.

We especially appreciated the low-profile, easy-to-use design that’s exciting to use regardless of anyone’s experience. We also liked that the mount didn’t take up much of my dildo’s usable length. Finally, it measures 15″ x 8.5″ x 12″, making it also suitable for taller people or those with longer legs. If you’re worried about sizing, please measure your thighs to ensure the cushion will work.
Pro Tip: If your vibrator doesn’t stick out as much as you’d like, you can stuff socks at the bottom of the hole so it doesn’t sink in as much.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, Liberator BonBon is only available in one size, and the low-profile design might be too small for bigger-bodied individuals. BonBon is also not ideal for dildos with large bases or realistic balls, or corded wands, since there’s no good exit hole for the cord.
Finally, Liberator BonBon is not ideal for people looking for pinpoint external stimulation. I tried using the rechargeable Magic Wand, and getting it to settle in one position for efficient clitoral massage was nearly impossible. I ended the sex pillow with a riding dildo and then held the wand with my hand, which certainly wasn’t the most ‘hands-free’ experience.

Why we love Liberator Hipster:
Liberator Hipster performed well in our review but couldn’t top the Liberator Combo on this year’s list. The main reason was that its cousin was just so much more versatile. The team also reported that more positions were comfortable with the above Combo product. Still, we believe there’s a target audience for Hipster as it’s an excellent product for a cheaper price. It can also double as a TV lounger.
Like the Combo, Hipster is made from high-density foam that supports your body weight during oral and penetrative sex. “Most importantly, the dip in the middle hugs your partner’s body for more stability during play. With the unique design offering high and low angles, couples can enjoy different sex positions easily”, our tester Tim Larson told me.
Liberator Hipster has a velvet cover that adds a sensual feel to the experience. The machine-washable cloth feels excellent against the skin, an essential factor, especially for people lying on it for extended sessions. In the image above, you can see how it looks with part of the cover unzipped.
Like other Liberator mounts, the Hipster has a waterproof lining between the core and outer cover to prevent sweat, body fluids, and water from seeping through.
We tried every position imaginable over many weeks, and the only ones that didn’t make us more comfortable were cowgirl and reverse cowgirl, which is why we placed the Hipster as number two behind the wedge/ramp combo. That said, the missionary position got a big boost with this product!
Minor issues we found during testing:
Unfortunately, the Liberator Hipster is expensive, especially for a solo sex pillow design. $210 will be too much for most people, considering you can get a wedge and ramp combo for just a few more dollars. It also takes up a lot of space.

We especially loved the rounded shape (image below). “I thought they made it more user-friendly, as the sharp corners in most sex pillows can be uncomfortable, especially for the big-backed folks”, our tester Sandra Larson confirmed.
Like the rest of the Liberator lineup, the Jaz model has a high-density foam core that’s supportive and steady during play. With a luxurious micro-velvet cover that feels great against bare skin, we found Jaz exciting even when I used it for extended periods.
On top of that, the foam core adds stability to your experience by adding more traction to memory foam beds. In addition, the machine-washable cover simplifies aftercare (see washing label below), allowing you to explore your wildest fantasies without worrying about cleaning, only focusing on the most crucial thing: maximum pleasure.
Minor issues we found during testing:
My main concern was the unavailability of a Black Label model. Unlike other Liberator sex pillows, the Jaz variant doesn’t have the Black Label version that comes with ankle and wrist cuff kits.
Jaz might also not be ideal for people looking for something that dramatically raises the angles during playtime – it doesn’t have the height.
Finally, since Jaz is smaller, it scored lower on versatility than its siblings. A smaller pillow can only do so much. The disappointing comfort for doggy was also a letdown. That said, our reviewers praised the improved G-spot stimulations and comfort during missionary and 69 positions.

The spanking bench also doubles as a sexual positioning chair for simplified doggy style and missionary sex positions. We found that the sturdy and padded furniture lets you manipulate the submissive partner as you wish for heightened pleasure during oral and penetrative sex.
Liberator Obeir is made with fully supportive polyurethane foam, making it stable and comfortable (see image below). It also has a machine-washable microfiber cover that’s plush and perfect for extended lovemaking.
The look is approachable for bondage newbies as it doesn’t scream “whips-and-chains.” Instead, it looks like a regular piece of furniture. But if you’re aesthetic on the pain dungeon side, this product may be too lame for your vibe.
Minor issues we found during testing:
Please note that this is primarily a spanking bench, so the possible positions are limited. For example, it makes doggy sex positions more comfortable and is excellent for anal sex. However, it’s not as easy for other poses involving vaginal penetration.
Liberator Obeir is pricey, retailing at $190. And even with the dynamic design, most people will find it expensive, especially those new to love-making pillows and wedges.
I was also not too fond of the lightweight design because the sub could walk away with it anytime. You might have to go for something ‘heavier’ if you want complete bondage. I used an eyehook to attach Obeir to my bed and sabotage my sub’s escape plans (hehe).

Minor Issues We Found During Testing:
The Wanda is one of the pricier sex cushions we tested, retailing at around $169. While the quality justifies the cost, the price may be too high for casual users. The fit of the wand slot can also vary depending on which toy you use. Smaller wands can sit too low in the hole, while some larger ones may stick out too far, requiring you to adjust your posture.
Another limitation is the ability to change vibration settings once the wand is inside. Depending on the button placement, you might need to remove the wand to adjust intensity. During our tests, rechargeable wands such as the Magic Wand Rechargeable and We-Vibe Wand 2 worked best, while corded wands felt less practical.
