I’m a long-time admirer of MRLSEXDOLL and their high-end, hentai-style sex dolls. Both the aesthetics and the functionality are truly impressive. One of my favorite anime artists, @meru_nyaa, recently did a collab with them to create a doll based on her original character Meru.

As soon as I saw the promotional image of Meru the Succubus, I knew that I had to have it. It is completely true to the artist’s original illustrations and even hotter than I had imagined. Anyone who appreciates hentai, succubus themes, or anime-style adult collectibles will be entranced by Meru 3.0.

What Is the Meru Sex Doll?

Meru 3.0 is a collectible hentai-style sex doll with a succubus theme. She is the product of a collaboration with artist @meru_nyaa and is a true representation of the Meru character. While this is a fully functional adult toy, it was designed to capture the hentai aesthetic and not as a realistic companion.

She weighs in at 3.85 kilograms (8.5 pounds) and stands 65 centimeters (25.6 inches) tall. Dolls this size are easy to maneuver with one hand and can be stored easily in a closet. It’s also much easier to dress and style a smaller doll. However, if you’re looking for a doll that feels like a real woman in your bed, this isn’t it.

First Impressions

Meru showed up at my door in a very discreet brown shipping carton with no identifying marks or labels. This is always a plus when you don’t want the world knowing your personal business. We appreciate sellers who understand discretion (most higher-end retailers do). Inside the sturdy shipping carton was a gray foam box. The foam was thick and provided good protection in transit:

The outfit was relatively uninspiring in its packaging but was absolutely perfect for Meru once I put it on her. It suits her character perfectly, and dressing her up and bringing her to life was a magical moment for me:

Face and First Look

I was struck by her face more than anything else. She looks exactly as I had imagined her: deep red skin, mesmerizing eyes with golden pupils, her signature twin-tail hair design, a mischievous expression, and a twitchy tail. The eyes are especially well detailed; it feels like she’s meeting your gaze. This is my fantasy in my home, and it is an incredible experience.

This doll does not have any of the tawdry, overblown “sexiness” that a lot of lower-end sex dolls rely on. Instead, she is a fully developed succubus character that has just stepped out of an anime world. This may not be for everyone, but it’s definitely for me, and if you’re reading this review, it probably will be for you too.

My Personal Experience

As I wrote above, I’ve been living with my Meru doll for several weeks now and I have zero regrets, even though she was expensive. She is @meru_nyaa’s character and a fantasy made real, and she is everything I dreamed about, from the golden eyes to the school uniform to the twin pony tails to the tail above her charming bottom.

I love being able to pose her where I can see her while I am working, and I love having her in my arms when I need her. I even find myself having conversations with Meru, and that is a testament to her character development.

Of course, Meru 3.0 is created and sold as a sex doll, and she is very good at that too! Despite her small size, she has a vaginal depth of 17 centimeters (6.7 inches) and this is enough to accommodate almost all average and even above-average penises. Her light weight means that she is easy to position and reposition with one hand even when you’re having sex with her. Her internal ridges are detailed and textured very nicely, and they offer excellent stimulation.

You will need to clean Meru after each encounter and use the included drying rod to make sure that there is no moisture left inside. This kind of intimate care helps build connection, though, and it is another advantage of having a smaller and lighter sex doll.

Build Quality and Material

The entire body of this doll is crafted from MRLSEXDOLL’s proprietary platinum-cured silicone. She feels like a high-end collectible figurine (but with a working vagina!). Too many sex dolls are built from PVC or TPE, which are plastics and feel like plastic. Meru’s skin is velvety and almost cool to the touch, which is exactly what I had hoped for in a demoness from a fantasy world.

I have mentioned a few times how much I love that she looks just like @meru_nyaa’s original artwork, and her body is part of that. Hentai and anime characters sometimes have unrealistic proportions (which is part of the fantasy!), but the skilled craftspeople at MRLSEXDOLL were able to translate them perfectly. I especially love that the tail is not just an afterthought but an essential part of Meru’s character.

Joint Flexibility and Posing

This is truly a well-crafted, high-end doll. She has an internal skeleton and flexible joints under her silicone skin. This means that you can pose her any way that you want, for display or for play, and she will hold that pose until you release her.

So far, I have successfully positioned Meru to be sitting, kneeling, reclining with her hands behind her, hugging a pillow, and sitting cross-legged. Despite a somewhat top-heavy appearance (and that is not a complaint!), she feels stable and does not fall over.

The process is as smooth as her skin. The joints move easily, she feels flexible, and I never worry that I will break her — this is a concern with poorly made sex dolls. Meru is easy to dress and pose for photos or anything else.

An Exciting Extra

If you read the content list carefully, you may have noted that Meru comes with nipple piercings and barbells to go through the holes. This is another example of being true to the original character. Meru is bold and seductive, so pierced nipples fit perfectly and are an authentic expression of her personality. They also look great, of course!

Minor issues I Found During Testing

I am unapologetically head-over-heels for my Miss Meru, but this is a review and that means detailing the drawbacks as well. I’ve been living with this Meru 3.0 doll for several weeks now and I would tell any prospective purchasers:

• This doll is very small. While this is not entirely a bad thing (she is easy to move, pose, and store) it does mean that you don’t get the same kind of immersive experience that you would with a life-size doll. It is probably better to think of Meru as a very large, very elaborate, very well-made sex toy and not as a companion.
• The platinum-cured silicone is extremely high-quality and the velvety texture is sensually pleasing, but it also attracts dust and hair (especially if you are a pet parent). You will need to bathe Meru regularly and dust her with renewal powder; otherwise, her skin will lose its luster.
• The nipple piercings and barbells are very much in character and also very sexy, but Meru is small and so are the piercings. It can be challenging to install the barbells and I was concerned that I would tear the silicone.
• Meru has red skin, a tail, and impossible proportions. To me, and to other hentai aficionados, this is not a drawback! But Meru definitely looks like an anime character and not the girl next door. If your personal preference is the latter, this doll may not be for you.

Meru has an internal skeleton and she is not overly heavy, so she can probably hold a neutral sitting or standing pose for quite some time. However, if you choose to pose her to be bending or stretching, you should probably change the pose every few days to protect the joints and avoid any indentations in her skin.
