The Venus Butterfly Silicone Remote Venus “G” Dual Stimulation Vibrator by CalExotics offers both internal and external stimulation, with its shaft designed to target the g-spot and its contoured wings designed to be externally stimulating. Did this butterfly make me feel airborne? Read my review to find out!
Key Takeaways

The internal stimulations on this toy were great, especially since it offered 12 different patterns and intensity variations. However, while this butterfly does deserve the “G” in its name, it didn’t fully deliver on the external stimulation. The wings and antennae provided more of a tease than a powerful vibration, and for a toy with “Dual Stimulation” in the name, it was a bit of a disappointment.
Who Should Try It? If you prefer internal stimulation and don’t need a lot of external vibes, this might just be the butterfly vibrator for you.
Who Can Skip It? If external stimulation is what gets you going, you can probably skip this one. Also, if you’re looking for a butterfly vibrator to take out in public, I would recommend going a different route, since it doesn’t stay in place.
You Can Buy It on the SheVibe website for $67.99.
What Is The Venus Butterfly Vibrator?
The Venus Butterfly by CalExotics is a remote-controlled butterfly vibrator designed to stimulate the g-spot and provide some external teasing with its antennae and contour-hugging wings. It offers 12 different vibration patterns, so finding a favorite is easy. It also has a memory chip, meaning that when you turn it back on, it will start up at the last vibration pattern you used and you don’t have to remember which vibe pattern is your favorite. If you’re using it during partner play, however, your partner can take over the remote and surprise you with the different pattern options. It’s also waterproof and safe for anal play, making it a very versatile toy.

How Do I Use The Venus Butterfly Vibrator?
The Venus Butterfly comes with a USB charger that charges both the device and the remote, something that I really appreciate from CalExotics. Charging time is about 70 minutes, and the charge will last for 80 minutes at the lowest vibrations and 55 minutes at the highest vibrations.

To let this butterfly work its magic, press the power button on the toy itself for 3 seconds (a red light will flash to let you know it’s on), then slide it in. Since this product is silicone, be sure to pair it with a water-based lube. Placing the toy can be a little tricky, since it is meant to hit both the g-spot and the clitoris at the same time. Once you have the shaft and antennae where they need to be, cycle through the 12 patterns and vibrations with the remote controller.
You can also control the patterns by pressing the power button but that seems much less convenient. A memory chip will make the toy resume on the last stimulation you used, so if you have a favorite vibration pattern, there’s no need to cycle through the ones that just don’t do it for you.

My Personal Experience
Packaging
While I’m normally a fan of basic packaging, the way the items were all bunched together in a plastic bag (image below) seemed a little too basic for the nearly $70 price tag. The box is also much bigger than necessary, which made the unboxing feel a little underwhelming as I opened it to find it mostly empty.

Design
This product is the only one in the CalExotics Venus Butterfly collection that does not have some sort of harness attached to the body. I can see why the harnesses were deemed necessary on the other butterflies, because one thing I immediately noticed about this one is that it kept slipping out a little while it vibrated. Since I don’t plan on taking this butterfly vibrator into the wide world for some outdoor play, it wasn’t an issue for me to simply push it back in, but I can see where the harness would be a convenient option if you’re looking for a truly wearable sex toy.
Of course every body is different, but I also found it difficult to line it up to get the stimulations to hit just right. This is going to be a downside of any toy that provides dual stimulation, though, so I certainly won’t fault it for that.

Material
The smooth silicone felt great, both internally and externally, and it even feels nice just to hold. Even though the toy has a cute butterfly shape, it’s high quality enough to not seem like a gimmick or a novelty; it looks and feels like a sleek, ergonomic device that happens to be in the shape of a butterfly. It doesn’t even have a butterfly pun in the name.
Stimulations
There are 12 stimulations, all controlled by the single button on the remote controller. One downside is that you have to cycle through all the stimulations to get back to the one you wanted, with no option to increase or decrease the intensity of each pattern. Something I do appreciate about it, though, is the fact that its memory chip makes it start on the last stimulation you used, meaning you don’t have to remember which one was your favorite.

Another issue I had was that the internal motor only controls the shaft. While the wings and antennae vibrate along with it, the intensity is nowhere near the same, and there is no way to control them separately. For a toy with “G” in the name, I can see why the focus would be on the shaft, but as someone who prefers external stimulation, I would have appreciated more power coming from the wings and antennae.
Sound Level
SheVibe ranks the sound level at a 2/4. It might be a little loud to use for outdoor play, but I wouldn’t recommend this one for outdoor play for a variety of other reasons anyway (namely, the fact that it kept slipping out). For some alone time in your bedroom, the sound level should be just fine.

Build Quality and Dimensions
Once out of the packaging, the egg and the remote both look and feel extremely luxe. I especially love the way the button on the remote is the company’s XO logo. The dimensions of the butterfly itself are 3.5″ x 3”, while the shaft has dimensions of 3″ x 1”.
Ease of Use
While any dual stimulator model is inherently a little difficult to position just right, the mechanics itself are simple: turn it on, slide it in, then cycle through stimulations on the remote (or let your partner do that part for you).

Versatility
The remote control that comes with this toy makes it a good choice for couple’s play. However, I would not recommend taking it outside the house, because of how much it slipped out, and because of the volume level.
This toy really puts the butt in butterfly, since it is also anal safe (I’ll see myself out).
Warranty and Support
CalExotics offers a 1-year warranty that covers all manufacturing defects.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
The only issue I encountered is that it didn’t always stay put, meaning I had to keep pushing it back in. Definitely not a dealbreaker, but I can see why the other versions of this toy came with a strap.
Review Summary
Pros
- The soft silicone feels great
- 12 vibration patterns and intensities (with a memory chip so that you can go back to your favorite)
- Anal safe
Cons
- External stimulation isn’t as strong
- It slipped out of my body
Alternatives to The Venus Butterfly Vibrator
The Butterfly Effect
If you want a butterfly toy that puts in more work to provide external stimulation (and has more intense stimulations overall), the Butterfly Effect by Evolved Novelties might be worth a try. The price tag is higher, but the clitoris-stimulating antenna has its own motor that can be controlled independently of the shaft motor, creating a more…affecting effect than I got from The Venus Butterfly.

The Dame Eva Couple’s Vibrator
If you want a wearable vibe that will focus solely on your external pleasure, the Dame Eva is worth a try. Not only is it wearable, but it also leaves room for penetrative sex (or another toy), leaving room for a dual sensation that’s sure to satisfy.
