Zumio X2 Review – My Sex Toy Guide

The Zumio X2 promises to be unlike any other sex toy, thanks to its use of elliptical motions, instead of regular vibrations. Did it fill me with X-tacy, or did it fail to live up to my X-acting standards? Read my review to find out.
Key Takeaways

While its elliptical motions feel basically indistinguishable from regular vibrations, as far as I was concerned, the small size, discreet look, power, and easy functionality of Zumio X2 made it a real winner. If you’re in need of a travel vibrator, look no further than the Zumio X2.
Who Should Try It? A lot of toys tout themselves as being ideal for travel when they’re actually just…small. The Zumio X2, however, would be a perfect choice for travel and seems to be designed with that purpose in mind. It comes with a travel cap and a silky storage bag, it has a travel lock feature to prevent it from turning on accidentally, it’s quiet, and (of course) it’s small.
It also doesn’t immediately look like a sex toy, especially with the travel cap on, so even if TSA does take it out of your bag, it won’t be that embarrassing.
Who Can Skip It? On their website and in the accompanying instruction book, Zumio offers a guide on how a beginner can use this toy to discover their erogenous zones for the first time.
However, this is not a toy I would recommend to a beginner. The slim tip allows for pinpoint precision and is extremely intense in its vibrations (sorry, elliptical motions). Those are great features if you just need a quick session to relieve some tension, but not if you’re going on a journey of self-discovery.
In short, if you’re not 100% sure where your clitoris is, there are so many better options to help you find it.
You Can Buy It on the official Zumio website for $89.
What Is The Zumio X2?
Instead of the usual vibration motion, the Zumio X2 is a clitoral stimulator that uses a rotating movement, which is supposed to make it feel less buzzy. However, the stimulations felt like regular vibrations to me. The website also promises “quick and intense orgasms”, which…I won’t deny.

I feel as though this toy has a bit of an identity crisis. Their website and instruction booklet make it seem as though it’s meant for self-discovery and long, luxurious self-care sessions. But it also promises orgasms that are “quick and intense” and is extremely powerful. The website also says it can help you discover your g-spot, and…no, this is very much an external stimulator.
Now, while I appreciate their mission to help people on a journey of self-exploration, I think X2 should embrace its true identity as an amazing travel toy. Because as a travel toy, the Zumio X2 is practically perfect. It’s simple without being basic, it’s small, slim, and sleek, it’s quiet, and it even comes with a travel cap and silk bag.

First Impressions and Features
Unboxing
The box for the Zumio is perfectly nice. It’s basic cardboard with a picture of the product on the front, and some specifications on the back and sides. I’ve complained in the past about toys with too-basic packaging, but this one manages to be simple without looking clinical. The silver foil design on the bottom of the box really helps.

I also loved the fact that it came with a bag!

How Do I Use Zumio X2?
If you want a detailed guide, the Zumio X2 comes with an instruction sheet that is far more thorough than any I’ve seen. It gives information on how to try the “Zumio experience”, detailing exactly where to place it and for how long to maximize your pleasure. The instruction manual even has a guide on how to find your clitoris.

Their instructions on the website are even more explicit (literally) and feature illustrative .gifs showing exactly where and how to use the product. My “How To” guide will be a lot less exciting (sorry):
- To charge it up, simply plug it into the accompanying fast charger. Charging should take about an hour.
- Put some lube on the tip and turn on the toy by pressing the round button. To increase or decrease the intensity, press either the top (increase) or bottom (decrease) of the infinity-symbol/figure-8 button. When your playtime is over, simply press the power button again.
- This toy also has a travel lock feature, which can be turned on or off by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.

Note: One thing to note about this toy is that if the charging light is blinking, that means it is not charging properly. The light should stay a solid color and will turn off after 4 hours, with no indication of when exactly the toy is fully charged.
My Personal Experience
Design
I haven’t tried the original X, but according to Zumio’s Instagram, the X2 is more compact, has a faster charge time, and is cheaper at $89, as opposed to the X’s price of $160.
All those features are great, but based on that description, it seems like if you already own the X, there’s no need to get an upgrade. However, I do appreciate a company that strives to make a product even better.

The design of X2 is unusual in how stripped-down it is. It really looks more like an electric toothbrush than a sex toy! Despite the borderline clinical design, it still looks good, and the functionality is intuitive.
The tip of this toy is tiny, so if you love pinpoint clitoral stimulation, this is one to check out:

Material
The Zumio X2 is made of silicone and ABS. The tip of the toy is flexible, while the handle is rigid and feels like an electric toothbrush.
Stimulations
While the Zumio website touts their use of elliptical motions instead of vibrations, it still feels a lot like a regular vibration. Which is totally fine, don’t get me wrong!

X2 has 8 intensities, but doesn’t have any patterns. The stimulations are intense, which is primarily why their claims of being good for “quick, intense orgasms” carry much more weight than their claims that this toy is meant for beginners.
Another great thing is that the vibrations don’t travel to the handle and instead stay right where they’re meant to be. And of course, you can control the stimulation by how hard you press against the toy.

Also, on their website, they claim that their toys have “no vibration”, unlike…suction toys. While the elliptical motion of this toy might make it less buzzy than a regular vibration, it feels a lot more like vibration than the average suction toy!
Sound Level
This would hardly be a perfect travel toy if it were loud, would it? The Zumio X2 is appropriately quiet, while still being very powerful.

Build Quality and Dimensions
With a length of 6.5 in. and a width of 1.24 in., this toy is nice and small and will fit easily into even your smallest overnight bag. It feels very well made, so you don’t have to worry about it dying on you in the middle of your travels.
Ease of Use
To me, Zumio X2 hit the sweet spot of being easy to use without being too basic in its functionality. As you can see in the image below, it has a button to turn it on and off, a button to increase the intensity, and a button to decrease the intensity. I much prefer that to a sex toy that makes you cycle through the intensities.

Versatility
While it is not intended for internal use, this toy can be used on your nipples as well as the area surrounding your clitoris.
Warranty and Support
Zumio offers a limited 2-year warranty.
Minor Issues I Found During Testing
The main thing that would have improved my experience with Zumio X2 was if the stimulations had included patterns.
Review Summary
Pros
- Perfect for travel
- Powerful
- Offers pinpoint precision
Cons
- Stimulations didn’t include any patterns
- Stimulations might be too intense for some, especially beginners
- Elliptical motion feels just like regular vibrations.
Alternatives to Zumio X2
The Red Hot Ember
The toy that the X2 reminded me of when I first unboxed it was the Red Hot Ember by CalExotics. The Red Hot also has a tiny tip for pinpoint precision, but it’s a tongue toy, meaning the tip flicks up and down. It’s also a little…sexier looking than the X2, which does look a lot like an electric toothbrush.

Starsi or Zeep
If you want a vibrator that genuinely can help with discovering all your delightful erogenous zones, Starsi and Zeep are two toys by Cute Little Fuckers that are designed for that exact purpose. Zeep is smaller and more travel-friendly, while Starsi is bigger and more versatile. Here’s a video comparing the two.
